The site is exceptionally beautiful. Great services, all the staff very kind and professional. The dinner 3 services was very good. The spa and massages excellent. Great place to relaxe and enjoy Les paysages champêtres!
The fact that we were in the woods and a river was a special experience. I am sure for the outdoor people who do any activities during the summer, they will enjoy them.
The staff was very welcoming and always available. Recommend the spa, very relaxing. The staff are extremely nice and the atmosphere is very quiet. The food is very good.
Looking forward to go again.

Our accommodation was traditional wood built house from 1902, but modernised. It was a nice experience to be in a house of the style that we have seen in all the traditional parts of Quebec. It would’ve been nicer to be closer to the campus where the activities place, we needed a car to get there. As such, we didn’t really part of the site.
The trails and the site were great but honestly overpriced. We got the loft next to the horse stable which was neat but other guests kept trying to come into our room, one person came in while we were sitting at the table, so we wished there was a clearer indication not to come in. If you dtay there definitely keep the door locked! When we got there there were A LOT of flies, both dead and alive inside which wasn't great. For 400$ a night we shouldn't have to clean before departing at the risk of getting charged a cleaning fee. This did not include any meals or the spa access.
The trails were great and the location is beautiful, we just wish it would have been less pricey. We were there for a wedding, it is a very nice wedding venue but we won't go back on our own.
It is a great place. We enjoyed it. The selection of food available is pricey and although it is "gourmet" some healthier options would be a great addition
The grounds and surrounding area are lovely, even in the summer months. It must be a fantasyland in the winter. We look forward to returning for horse-drawn sleigh rides.
Best place to enjoy winter activities at le baluchon . The maison bleu is a fantastic large cotage with everything you need.People in the baluchon are awsome. We will definitly come back
Nice place but...
- Tips are include on every invoice and they ask tip over it!
- The 8 services was not available while i has been told (by email and phone) i didn't need to reserve in advance :( ... one of the reson why we were there
- The massage end up to be 25$ more than advice on their web site
We tremendously enjoyed the area and the activities available.
They offer certain activities for free while others for a fee.
The one negative thing we found was dinner. There is only one option of restaurant and they offer limited choices and it is very expensive. For someone who is vegetarian, there is only one option and for that price, you can feed a large family of that dish.
Also there are no restaurants close by so you are very limited.
I live in Houston, Texas so Le Baluchon was a great change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the big city. French is the primary language in this region, but the staff and visitors were pretty accommodating despite my lack of French. There's lots to do here even if you are a solo traveler. I loved my room and its unique, lumber style. There's also beautiful scenery right on the property. Also Julie gave an amazing Swedish Massage that resulted iin me driftingto sleep. I just wish kayaking and yoga were still available in late October/early November. Great experience nonetheless!

I was charged an extra fee for cleaning dishes even though I put them on the dishwasher and hit button on before I checked out.
Absolutely beautiful site - incredibly close to forest / sounds of the river while maintaining a nice distance from neighbours (we rented one of the chalets but all the accommodations are beautifully maintained and blend into the rest of the area).
The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating for all of our needs/requests.
Kayaking on the Rivière du Loup and walking the wooden sidewalks (trottoir en bois) are a must!
The massages at the spa are pricey but top notch (even if the building itself is a bit bland versus the rest of the site)
A few minor inconveniences:
- long check-in lines at 5 pm.
- outdoor pool was too warm to be refreshing
- no AC in chalet made for hot sleeping conditions (maybe just fans in each bedroom would be helpful)
- dining room 3 service is good and staff incredibly helpful but I would not say it is gastronomic ( lower prices reflect this so not an issue - the experience was great and our waiter Luc was fantastic)
