Very poor hotel. I was staying a few miles away for half the price and the rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable. As I was working away with a colleague I booked 2 family rooms. The rooms are dated and not up to standard. I had no towels in my room and there was only 1 in the other FAMILY room I booked. I booked family rooms as both our partners and baby’s were coming to stay one night. My room smelt strongly of smoke and the smoke detector had been covered up. The corridors smelt of smoke and sometimes marijuana. After the first night I had to move rooms due to the smell of smoke, blocked sink, broken shelf in the bathroom. The list goes on. Second room was much better. Overall I wouldn’t recommend for the price.

We was kept awake ALL night by what we believe to be homeless people in an adjoining room who showed total disregard to paying guests.They were shouting,swearing and general getting pissed and if I was working the next morning I would have gone and sorted them out. No member of staff went anywhere near them to tell them to shut up or chuck them out, it was a disgrace that paying guests were subject to crap like that.

Basic but pleasant!
We stayed here as we were doing a half marathon locally. It was basic but clean and near to a metro station. Staff were pleasant.

Constant smell of urine and weed throughout the hotel which is extremly run down. Resturant was closed and only eating option was the very suspect bar area. Television did not have signal. Mattress was unbelievably thin and shower had no water pressure. Room was averagely clean, but I will not be staying here again and would advise others to avoid

Had a good two night stay here. Was expecting old style rooms in this old Tudor building but the rooms are nice and modernised. Worst thing was the internet didn't work in our room. If you're on a budget and aren't too fussy then its spot on.

Initial impressions not good. Outside the main entrance were a lot of scruffy smokers which was a bit off putting. (After we had been out, we realised this is common in this area) We received a good welcome, & went to our room to change. Will certainly stay again.

The receptionist was very polite and friendly. The reception shows that it was once a very grand house. Our room was clean enough. The bedding was clean. But everything else was just disappointing. The duvet was lumpy. We had 3 pillows between us. The lighting was harsh and bright. The TV was tiny! It was all very rudimentary. Any hints of comfort have been stripped back. The absolute minimum had been left . It’s a shame as the rooms shown on the website look much more welcoming. I like to leave on a positive note and I can say that the towels were beautifully white.

Oh Boy!!!
We ended up here by mistake. The hotel I thought I booked from booking.com was down the road with a similar name. Unfortunately we wanted to leave from the moment we started upstairs to our room. This hotel is very run down, the wifi SUCKS and we didn't start out with towels in our room until day two and if you are hoping for a wash cloth or soap, forget about it. AND there is no elevator. So dragging large luggage to the third floor was difficult! We were unnerved by the men hanging around outside at all hours not just in the front but all over the property, the hallway smelled like cat urine, and oddly in the morning a guy on a creaky ladder appeared at our window on the third floor to wash the window, I quickly pulled the window curtains closed when I heard his ladder, before he got to our window but it was weird. He didn't bother cleaning any other windows. Some of the room lights were burned out. With no "Do Not Disturb" sign, we got that 6 am knock when they want to get you out, even though check out is noon. I opened the door to ask for towels and the maid insisted that she take our trash, but my daughter was sleeping and I was in my underwear when she came in gathered up our trash, noticed we had no towels handed me a few and left. It was just weird and it is not a place you should stay unless you like the feel of the movie The Godfather or White Nights. There are much better places for less money.

Our reservation could not be found immediately as it had been sent by Hotels.com with both our Christian names and no surname. It was a little worrying. The bedroom was very basic but clean. The bathroom had been refurbished. We stayed in 227 and as you walked down the corridor you could smell people had been smoking in one of the rooms. The smell lingered during our stay. I did mention it to the receptionist who said she would look into it. There were ‘ no smoking ‘ notices everywhere! We are non smokers so we were not happy. On a better note the breakfast was good and we were going to Old Trafford football ground for a concert so this hotel proved very convenient as the metro link was a 10 minute walk.

Hotel is in need of a lot of TLC both in the rooms and in the corridors. First time I have visited this hotel, but wasn't asked if it was nor whether I needed help with luggage that you get at every other hotel. Carpets were worn down, room was comfort apart from having no Air Conditioning, but it was very quiet. The only real positive from my stay was breakfast and in particular the lady serving us. She was the only bright spark in a dull stay, wouldn't recommend this hotel to family or friends at this present moment
