"A really lovely and relaxing place to spend a few days whilst visiting the game reserves. Very attentive staff, a large and comfy bedroom A lookout deck, pool, hammock and outdoor seating area are all lovely, and would be fabulous in warmer weather. Three course dinner (set menu) was delicious and all home-prepared on site. The dining room is also very nice, and we were seated right by the fire - very welcome in August. The shower did go cold on us twice, but I think in winter it's harder...

"One of the best stays we have ever had! We came in late but the place and the people were warm and welcoming. The breakfast was quite literally the best I’ve ever had. Homemade bread and pastries still steaming when she brought them out! Everything gourmet and fresh, every detail of place settings planned to perfection. "Bukela is a beautiful stay, facilities are great, friendly staff and our ranger (Sim) was very knowledgeable. Foodwise is really below average, just not good especially for a 5* resort. It felt like diner was prepared during the day and heated up in the evening, just not fresh. Breakfast was really poor. Only meal that was good was the lunch. No snacks during the day. Due to this matter i will not likely to visit Bukela again nor reconmend to anyone which is regretful as the staff and facilities...

"I had a super stay here. It is really nice that the B&B actually provides breakfast along with tea and coffee and crackers. That makes the morning much easier. Also, I unexpectedly had an overnight guest and the hotelier allowed me to bring the other guest in the guest room. This was much appreciated."

"Only stayed one night and arrived in the early evening and had difficulty finding the location, mostly because the roads in SA tend to not have working street lighting. Friendly well mannered Staff, felt happy the parking was secure enough, great breakfast, spacious but "worn" room with a good view of the river, noisy neighbours though. Had a good rest."

"The reserve has comfortable chalets. The game drives were amazing thou sometimes were felt borderline dangerous due to very close encounters with lions and especially with the large herd of elephants with babies, that became agitated by our car proximity. Fortunately, all encounters ended peacefully. Our guide/driver Brendon had 21 years of experience in the reserve, thanks to him we had unforgettable experience of finding and meting almost all the species in reserve, as I mentioned mostly face to face: lions (full family of 7), elephants, buffalos, rhinos, hippos (that's 4 out of big 5), not to mention zebras, elands, springboks, wildebeests, herds of giraffes to mention a few. Would recommend visiting the reserve, We spent there full 2 days what was more than enough to not repeat same experiences, if we were staying longer."
