Pros and Cons Pros: Spacious, multi-level layout with plenty of room for four. Peaceful lakeside setting, close to Ganges, and surrounded by songbirds — very tranquil overall. Cons: Although this is a mid-range property, the furnishings feel dated and the overall cleanliness could be better. Staff were generally responsive, but I was taken aback when they laughed after I mentioned that my husband had fallen — quite hard — while carrying our dinner, which ended up scattered across the front yard. The fall was caused by a sizeable, hidden hole in the grass beside the pathway that’s clearly worn from regular use between the parking spot and the front door. When I told the manager, she brushed it off, saying she’d fallen in the same hole herself. If it’s a known hazard, why hasn’t it been fixed? That really speaks to the level of care and attention at this property. Overall: Would I stay there again? Not likely.

Great location. Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage. Spacious, clean and well equipped. Gorgeous lake and stunning views. Did not like the late check in time, waiting around until dinner time to check in isn’t good value to the customer. Lake equipment was nice however there were limited oars so you couldn’t use them all. BBQ could use some cleaning.

Lovely location, accommodation

The property and accommodation is lovely. The lake is great for swimming, canoeing, etc. On the downside, the dock can get a bit crowded. The check-in time (5 p.m.) and check-out time (10 a.m.) are a bit unreasonable, especially when guests are requested to strip the beds and take out garbage and sort the recycling.

Peaceful area, nice walking trail. Kitchen was well equipped and new management are excellent communicators and happy to help. Some of the living room furniture is getting a bit worn and some paint touch ups required, but not to the point it was shabby. The tub is FABULOUS!

Good place to visit and stay with family. They do need to replace the kitchen utensils. Or bring your own. 2ns time we stayed here. First time was newer and it was amazing. (4 years ago) This time is good but furnishings are a bit used

We stayed in the Duplex. Cottage was very roomy. Unfortunately no AC so it was quite warm. Couldn't imagine it in the summer heat. Close to everything. Could have been cleaner. Quite dusty. Overall not bad. Very quiet.

The Cottages are fabulous for a getaway. The two bedrooms are completely separated with one on the uppermost floor and the other in the basement. Each bedroom has a bathroom plus there is a powder room on the middle floor. The only issue is a lack of hand towels. For a four day visit you get 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels per full bedroom. There is no housekeeping at all during your stay, which is fine. Quiet location with easy access to Ganges and roads around Salt Spring Island.

We've been to this property many times however there were a few snags with this trip. We asked if a playpen was available via email and phone call. We were told we would be called the day before to be informed if we could have one - they never communicated with us. Our cottage (43) also had terrible water pressure. There was zero water coming out of the top floor bathrooms sink, and the bath trickled water - so it took 45 minutes to fill it if you wanted to use it. I informed management via email and they responded, but had no resolution for our stay. Definitely put a damper on the holiday as the spa like bath is always a highlight.

Second staying at these cabins. Both times were in pet friendly units, but without a pet. I have to say that this time the condition of cabin was not that great. Although animals are not allowed on furniture, the couch and seats in the living room were grossly stained. Felt like a poor student furniture rather than a grown up space to sit and hang out. At that price that shouldnt be a thing. You would expect clean furniture. We had a lakeview cabin with no lake view. Although we had a beautiful forest view, there was absolutely no lake view. Entrance was presented with plenty of spider webs. Lastly, mold in the shower. Plus side we got to canoe and bbq by the lake. A good stay, but condition of that unit was not worth it compared to a much nicer unit we got at our last visit. I know they are individually owned and it differs, but cleanliness should be standard and same in any units.
