Bathroom totally unsuitable for 4 and impractical-roll top bath difficult to get in & out of to shower. No lock on bathroom door and sink unsuitable as so small couldn’t use it to wash as there was shelf above it. General appearance of entrance and hallway poor bags of laundry stored there but once inside great "

"Staff were so welcoming! My room allocation was quickly sorted. Breakfast was great! Staff couldn't have done more and I really enjoyed it. I didn't use the bar, but it seemed busy. The bed's mattress was very firm. All linen was beautifully crisp and clean. Fluffy, quality white towels. Shower was easy to use and lovely and hot with no problems. Could have done with towel rail in the bathroom (in bedroom) and a bedside shelf/table (one at bed bottom). This is a huge, very old hotel which could do with a refurb. But is blatantly well-loved and was very busy! It's a stone's throw from the beating heart of the town. There isn't a hotel car park and parking wasn't too easy. I would return. Don't expect 'The Ritz', but know you'll have a very warm welcome with lovely folk ."
