This cozy resort is beautifully tucked between the lush mountains of Samaná and the stunning shores of Las Galeras Beach. The rooms, grounds, and pool areas were all well maintained, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The buffet could benefit from more variety, especially for guests staying multiple days. Likewise, the bars would be more appealing if they featured a broader selection of well-known liquors and highlighted more of the exceptional local rum brands—some of which truly rival the best. Staff were consistently friendly and attentive, adding a warm touch to the overall experience. If I could rate it 3.5 stars, I would. Since that’s not an option, I settled on 3—but with just a few thoughtful upgrades, this property could easily reach 4.5 stars. It clearly has great bones, and like many places still recovering post-pandemic, a little investment could go a long way.

Great resort remodel and some building still under restoration, the beach is amazing, clean, calm and beautiful, the pools were great too. We hated the food and the very limited options, they are trying to save money on not providing almost no protein only carbs and cheap food, they won’t accommodate allergies so if you have an allergy stay away, the chef is horrible so the very limited, we would not be back, it’s sad because we loved the beach.
As I explained they were very cheap with the protein, that’s the amount of me they provided for one of the dinners on my table, I had to complain

We traveled with a family group and this is the perfect hotel if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. The gentleman who help us with our bags; Mr. Jose Ramirez was very polite and friendly. The rooms were clean.

I spent a week a week on this resort. big issue was the A/C went out for the last four days of seven I was there. Management neglect it the problem resulting customers leaving the resort; management keep saying that they were working on it. But no solution or options were offered. I feel bad because it's a nice location. But this experience was horrible. at night my room temperature reach to 90 F. again poor management

WYNDHAM ALTRA, BIG DISAPPOINTMENT- NEVER AGAIN

Location it's superb Beach is wonderful Buildings & accommodations are great STAFF NOT so great I stayed before in other ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS AT BAVARO & PUNTA CANA and PAY much less per night than ALTRA ALTRA has NOT COMPARISSON AT ALL with them What was BAD They ONLY gave us 1 room key for 2 people ENTRETAIMENT=ZERO-NO SHOWS or anything FOOD TERRIBLE selection very few selections of dishes(5or 6 ONLY) A la CARTE restaurants are awful bad quality food no taste &Few selections Examples First day we arrived at 3 pm AFTER the lunch hour so until dinner there was ONLY 1 option by the beach where they ONLY serve PIZZA-BURGERS-HOT DOGS&QUESADILLAS We order 1 pizza(SORRY we don't have pizza)We order burger with fries & hot dog(SORRY we do NOT have MUSTARD)We order regular pepsi &PEPSI ZERO(SORRY we do NOT have regular Pepsi) with LEMON(SORRY WE DONT HAVE LEMON)We asked for AVOCADO(SORRY WE DO NOT HAVE AVOCADO) Ok we thought it's SATURDAY MAYBE they run out WELL NO, WE STAYED FOR 5 NIGHTS THEY NEVER GOT THE REGULAR PEPSI NEITHER THE MUSTARD. Other day even they close at 6 pm at 5:45 WE WERE DENIED SERVICE MAIN BUFFET (BREAKFAST LUNCH & DINNER) Orange juice was WATER WITH COLOR not REAL ORANGES 1 night my wife got a hot tea and was walking out of the restaurant with it She was stopped at the door telling her she can NOT leave with the TEA CUP They offered her a THIN PLASTIC CUP Dinner was until 10:30 pm, at 8:45 BOLONESA sauce for the pasta WAS finished This happened 3 times in 5

En el chequeo llegamos a las 2 se que el chequeo era a las 3 bueno fuimos a comer nos dijeron que regresaramos a las 3 lo cual isimos llegaron 2 autobuses y empesaron a atenderlos a ellosberan las 3.25 y no nos davan la avitasion les dije que porque si llegamos 1.horay 25 minutos antes que ellos no nos atienden primero despues mire qie nos cambiaron la abitasion nos tocava en las 11 abajo y nos dieron en la 12 14 arriva yo le reclame y me dijo que esa mejor yo se que no era asi porque yo la elegi
