There were some issues during the check-in as we booked through Hotels.com. In the website, it says the check-in is at 11am onwards but the actual check-in time at 3pm. Regardless, the staff came to attend us immediately and resolved the issue by letting us into an empty room at one of their guesthouses (Fun fact: they have 3 guesthouses around the area). The room was clean, and had all the necessary amenities. We even had the time to do our laundry (with extra charge) during our stay. We had to check out at 4am to catch our train, and one of the staff, Abdul Aziz was there to help us. He stayed with us until the Yandex arrived as the area is quite dark at that time. Thank you for the warm service. We really enjoyed our stay.
The room was excellent. Very big, clean and modern. The shower was very powerful and the best we’ve used in Uzbekistan. There was AC and a heater (which was useful in the evening). A separate communal kitchen had a kettle, fridge, microwave and iron/ironing board.
The organisation is strange and difficult. The room that we were given (same as the photos on here) was in a different building, which we were taken to after dropping our bags off. To communicate with the employee we had to use WhatsApp as they weren’t there. I paid in cash, as requested, but wasn’t given my change. Initially I had no response on WhatsApp and then I was told which was the bedroom of one of the employees.
It is a shame that it was unnecessarily complicated to communicate with staff and receive my change. Otherwise the room itself was perfect and the properly very good. Only 8-10 mins walk from Registan Square. 5 mins walk from good quality restaurants and ice cream.
