It has seen better days and is showing its age badly It was clean, comfortable bed and linen and the aircon was good Nam the receptionist was good with excellent communication via what’s app On the Sunday the owner was having a private BBQ which just seemed strange and the place was over run by noises children attending the function it’s only a small hotel It needs some cash spent on its decor rusty flexible pipes in the bathroom is not a good look, the cups provided in the room are stained from general use and age and should not be in general use The pool is small but good, the pool furniture also needs an upgrade The staff were polite and worked hard This place has the potential to be an excellent boutique hotel it location is excellent But please please spend some money on it It is so overpriced I am pay less for a luxury hotel on Cheweng"

"If you are looking for a location that is secluded and quiet with a traditional Thai feel then you will enjoy this resort. We found is too removed from the type of vibe we were looking for and therefore only stayed for one night (booked four) before deciding to move on to a location that was more suited to us in the heart of Fisherman’s Beach. Resort has many steep paths so not ideal location for anyone who is not fully mobile or able to climb steep areas. Fitness centre was tired and needs an uplift. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful - some off the best service we experienced during our two week stay on the island. Restaurant was also great and had a grea range for both breakfast and dinner."

"Everything about this resort is 5 star. Staff rooms pool restaurant. Amazing views and the pool is incredible. A lot of stairs and hills but the exercise doesn’t hurt!! Spa was great as well!"

"Excellent aircon. Didn't try the pool this time as our guest room (#304) was in the newer building near reception (as opposed to across the road from reception where we stayed 6 days previously and where we did enjoy the pool). Unfortunately there were some really weird thumping, crashing and bashing noises going on directly above our room...almost like renovations except it went on until 2am and started again early Sunday morning. Overall, it didn't affect our stay that much and the location of the Villager is simply fabulous to enjoy the strip that comes alive at night time."
