We had no hot water for several hours and received different explanations from the staff. It did get fixed overnight but we could not take a shower and get ready for a concert we were in town for. Front Desk staff was not willing to extend checkout from 11am to Noon and was supposed to comp valet fee.

Beautiful area, well cared for on the riverwalk. Saturday was very busy! We loved walking the riverwalk and seeing all the flowers and vegetation! Hotel was very nice and all employees very kind!

We check in on Friday went out to shop came back to get ready for the concert we were there for.. when we where gonna shower there was no water in both rooms that we had gottten.. so we went downstairs to talk to manager said there was noting they could do there had the engineers working on it.. the other guy at front desk mention this had been a problem since last weeek so I asked why are you even open and why aren’t you telling us before checking in! We order room service the food was gross and cold! The to list was super dirty, there was hair in the shower, dust on nightstand next to bed… I would never stay here again!

Had a horrible experience for the first time here. Upon check in, no water. I had a concert to attend and had driven 8 hours to check in and get ready. Decided to order room service while I get dressed and food was horrible and cold. Tasted pretty dated and fries were gross! The worst part is management basically said “yes we’re aware and are working on it, too bad- wait” go back to your room and figure it out basically. Their empathetic skills were severely lacking. I won’t stay here anymore. Solely because of the way they handled the issues and their dreadful customer care. .

Hotel Contessa was perfect for our family! This hotel is conveniently located near everything you’d want to do along the riverwalk and in downtown San Antonio. The pool was quiet and never busy. My husband enjoyed the fitness center which had great equipment and was also never busy. The suite set up was great for our family of four and even though our room overlooked the riverwalk it was so quiet.

Excellent hotel! The rooms with the separate living space was great to have, the decor was very modern yet inviting, and the service was great as well! No complaints except the shower was lower so I feel like a tall person might have a hard time. Would definitely recommend and would use the hotel again!

Upset that when we walked in our room , there was a big stain on the carpet . They took off one night of valet parking . Called for room service the next day , 1 hr wait for breakfast . I was told she was alone sorry . For these 2 reasons and over 300.00 a night I would stay at a different hotel.

We were here for a Yelp event and decided to stay the night. Great room Great food Great bar The room was spacious and well laid out! Good time. This was during Fiesta Week here in San Antonio so decorations and events reflected that. Fun!

I did not meet a courteous staff member. Check-in took a long time. The common areas were dirty. Valet took forever to retrieve the car. The food at breakfast was unappealing to the five of us. On a side note, we booked two rooms. The first time i entered my credit card information and i thought we secured the rooms. Expedia's system didn’t take the request so I immediately selected the rooms again for $400 additional. This hotel is not worth the amount we ultimately paid.

Beautiful Hotel, Restroom needs an overhaul tile was dirty. We have always stayed at this hotel durning fiesta, staff was friendly and professional. Hotel restrooms need to be redone, otherwise great place to stay! Sorry, I never complain but I rather them make upgrades so their guest can be happy!!

Centrally located for Riverwalk activities. We had a corner/river view room so we could see multiple areas of the river. We were there for Fiesta and they had an excellent Mariachi band playing. Friendly staff and fast check in and out. Early and late pool hours. Kuerig coffee machine and bottled water provided as well as a refrigerator. Must have room key to use elevators making it more secure. About $25 to and from airport with Taxi or Uber and we had no wait.

The Hotel Contessa is a fantastic hotel. Located right on the riverwalk and very close to all the attractions in downtown San Antonio. The staff if very attentive and there is a restaurant and bar located in the hotel. One sever Francisco always went above and beyond every time I ate breakfast there. Overall, a fantastic hotel!

This recently remodeled hotel is a hidden gem on the San Antonio Riverwalk. We are locals and have stayed at several hotels on the Riverwalk. We just stayed for a week and this hotel really stands out for the following reasons: (1) the rooms look brand new and are tastefully decorated, (2) the hotel is on the quiet side of the loop which makes for quieter evenings (unlike many of the hotels), the employees are very friendly and accommodating, (4) guest services takes service requests seriously and resolved two minor maintenance issues for us immediately, (5) the pool is very nice with plenty of chairs and lounges available for all ( plus incredible views!), and (6) the hotel is very generous and does not charge for bottled water in the rooms, couches and beds in the pool area, etc. We were able to afford a large suite at for the price of a regular room at competing hotels. We will plan to stay here again next year!

Everything was great and beautiful at Contessa. The only thing that I was not expecting was the bill I received on my check out for Amenity fee. When asked they mentioned for the pool, wifi, house keeping and etc. That is a bit weird. Are't we pay for this already?
