The room was clean and neat. The location was 30 min walk from downtown so that is a plus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to San Antonio.
This motel recently changed from an Econolodge to a Fairbridge motel. It is in need of serious need of major renovation. For starters, the door lock didn't work with the swipe key. The staff member said to just come and get them when we wanted to go back into the room -- not really an acceptable solution. While I was in the office several other people came in with the same problem. The refrigerator was 'ticking', like a clock. The overall condition of the rooms is poor -- chipped sinks, damaged walls, etc. I will say the bed was quite comfortable, and the staff seemed want to be helpful. Breakfast was a sorry affair with one waffle maker of vintage age that had to be run by the attendant, some cold cereal, and white bread. Coffee and a jug of juice but no tea -- which I like to have in the morning, so that was disappointing. There are several other places in the area that would be better choice for a stay until they renovate this place!
They did not have a correct room ready when I arrived and they felt a little unorganized and unprepared, but that was late in the night to be fair. One of the beds had some kind of crumbs on it which makes me feel like the sheets may not have been changed. The room itself was clean though, and everything in the bathroom and such worked. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. I did not swim but the pool seemed nice. Breakfast options were a little limited (qnd only served on weekends) but it's free and there's always coffee. In my week-long stay I saw maybe 2 alive bugs in the room and they were very small which is a HUGE plus during this time of year I was very impressed with the cleanliness in that regard, other hotels would have more bugs. Overall nice, especially for the excellent price. I would recommend to bring your own sheets.
They were charging $20 a day for parking but today we left and their sign said $30 a day. They are nearly 2 miles from the River Walk. The pool was disgusting. No washcloths. No phone. Cockroach was running into the room as we were leaving. Breakfast is a joke.
Perfect hotel if you like black mold, filthy restrooms & stained bedding. The blanket, sheets & pillow cases had numerous stains, and what apeared to be smoking device burns holes/marks. The mattress were old smelling & felt lumpy. Black mold in walls & ceiling painted over not removed. Room key constantly failed. Worst hotel stay ever!
Upon arrival, they charged $20 per day for parking, totaling $80; I pointed out that both their website and Expedia stated parking was free, but the manager, Hina, claimed that parking incurred a fee for any app-based reservation and that the apps were aware of this. I stayed for five days and four nights, yet the room was never cleaned, and there was no toilet paper, shampoo, or bath towels. The day before I left, I witnessed staff members shouting during an argument with guests in the room next door. The pool was dirty—I never used it—and breakfast consisted only of toast and cereal. It is a cheap hotel, and I would recommend it only for a quick, one-night stay, not for an extended visit.

Roaches and dead roaches everywhere.. front door kept getting stuck. Restroom door did not close. Bed was broken. Luckily we just went to sleep
Room wasn’t clean sheets were obviously not clean or changed . None of the amenities listed on the sites sales page on Expedia even exist!! NOTHING- coffee pot in room- NOPE, Pool- NOPE- green and not cleaned!!- signage for this place is WRONG it says Econo Lodge?! Breakfast wasn’t really breakfast - it was cereal and a waffle machine - just totally bizarre - they had my reservation incorrectly entered in the system - charged me an additional $60 at check in then tried to pass a charge thru using my card on file for $40 but it wasn’t successful because they had the wrong security code from the back of my card ??!! Scandalous
Do not stay here! The room was filthy with hair on the floor in the bathroom and in the shower, the towel rack had been ripped off the wall, there wasn't toilet paper on the holder and the pillows looked like they had been slept on. (I have pictures of all of this.) The smell of disinfectant was so bad I couldn't breathe. They offered another room and it was just as bad. I cancelled my reservation for that night and the rest of the week. Even though I didn't stay there at all, they still charged me for a one night's stay.
The name is actually Econolodge, so you'll drive right by it if you're looking for the name they're advertising under.
There are people living at this motel and there are 3 wheeled bikes parked there that look like the ones people use to collect cans for money. Good for them, but I'm pretty sure this was their home.
The lady behind the counter tried to help, but with only half of a pair of glasses, she had difficulties seeing and working the computer. She had to call the general manager regarding extra fees that I was charged and the general manager was less than helpful.
Best of luck to everyone that tries to stay there. Hopefully your experience is better than mine was
