The property is pity old and hasn't been updated. It still looks in the 80's. The host and the service was great. The electricity went away twice, the property should have a backup to have guests staying in B&B. Doesn't even have an AC.

Didar--sorry the electricity went out---It has NOTHING TO DO W/ THE B & B--The whole Area was in Blackout-Yes, the house was Built in 1980 & has had quite a few upgrades. It is a Spanish Colonial style--which I happen to love. Sorry for the Light inconvenience ---while you were packing---Please blame the city--NOT THE HOUSE!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR REVIEW!!

Exceeded all expectations! Laurie was beyond a great hostess. She’s so down to earth, caring & tells it how it is. The immense pride she has for her B&B shows in her hospitality. I showed up after 2am and she got up and helped me in like it was any other check in time. Her staff member Mariam is so friendly and amazing chef, all food is cooked fresh and you will never ever leave hungry. My stay feels too short! Thanks for an amazing stay & I hope to return soon

This was a perfect spot to stay near airport. Fantastic host greeted us warmly, beautiful and unique home. Great comfortable king bed and large bathroom en-suite. The breakfast spread was incredible, sitting out on the patio listening to the birds and rain. We will definitely be back!

We were greeted with a welcome drink and a little food by the housekeeper Miriam, a lovely lady! Laurie, the owner, went above and beyond to help us arrange everything, even car rental options! They were very welcoming and flexible about our late check-out. Highly recommended!

It was a very warm welcome by Miriam. She immediately offered coffee or something like that. Her banana bread is the best. She also showed us the room which is very nice.

What an incredible experience we had at Laurie's bed & breakfast. Laurie was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything! and helped us to customize our time in Costa Rica. She had great suggestions on where to go, what to do, and places to eat and we enjoyed all of it!!! She definitely made our trip memorable. She is a very gracious and welcoming host. She and Miriam made us the most delicious breakfasts daily, I especially loved the pineapple pancakes, as well as a yummy snack when we arrived! They were truly there to take care of our every need and it was much appreciated! Miriam is an angel and the sweetest lady ever! Such a great experience! Cant wait to go back and see more of Costa Rica and see Laurie & Miriam again!

Laurie was very kind and welcoming and made sure to give instructions in advance how to get here from the airport. The room was clean and had everything we needed with access to a lovely balcony. Miriam is a wonderful cook and made an excellent breakfast the next morning. A menagerie of friendly pets also welcomed us.

We only stayed one night at the Cariari b&b before flying back to United States, we had a great fun time there. Laurie, the lady that manages this place is remarkable, she can help you with any questions you have about the area, the food and activities and about Costa Rica in general. Miriam is Laurie’s sidekick is also very helpful. The b&b location is perfect, close to a plaza with several restaurants, and also very convenient to the airport and rental car places. The happy hour with beer and wine and snacks was a nice surprise and the breakfast was very very tasty and filling. If you are looking for a place in San Jose that is also in a close proximity to the airport, do not hesitate and book Cariari Bed and Breakfast.

Hospitality and Charm!
Our family of five had an absolutely wonderful stay here - The hospitality was above and beyond and the property is beautiful. Laurie and Miriam are wonderful hosts. Miriam made the worlds best pineapple pancakes for breakfast and we had such lovely conversation with the hosts. My three kids loved their sweet dogs and parrot. Thank you for the incredible hospitality!

The perfect end to my trip
What a gem! Laurie was an incredible hostess for my very short stay. I was traveling as a solo female and she even insisted on going out to dinner with me as I arrived late and wasn’t familiar with the area. If you’re an animal lover you will enjoy her sweet pups and kitty. I would absolutely recommend a stay here to anyone, it really feels like a home away from home. I was sent off for my very early flight in the morning with some fresh coffee and the most amazing banana bread packed up to go for me by Miriam. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

I chose this bed and breakfast because I wanted something that had the look and feel of a typical Costa Rican home and yet amenities of a hotel. Laurie arranged transportation for us from the airport to the bed and breakfast. Mariam prepared a delicious typical Costa Rican breakfast for us the next morning. We even had some homemade pepper jelly made by Laurie. Laurie was instrumental in making our Costa Rican vacation so wonderful. She went above and beyond in making arrangements for us to see this beautiful country. What an adventure!

Hostess With The Mostess
We're newlyweds and we spent a night with Laurie in her home in order to stay closer to the airport as we had an early flight the next day. We were hoping for more personality than you'd get with the Marriotts and Hiltons, and we were not disappointed. We arrived early and were welcomed right in, whisked to the back patio to enjoy breakfast (bagels, cinnamon bread, banana bread, fruit spread, eggs, rice and beans, coffee, juice), all made on the fly by the wonderful cooks Laurie and Miriam (<great ladies!). Their hospitality was wonderful, the food was great, the conversation genuine and open; most importantly it felt more like we were staying with old friends rather than it just being a business arrangement. Laurie is a character in the best way and welcomes everyone, you'd be blessed to meet her at least once in your life. Stay there while you can, Laurie may not be at this forever. It's hard work to offer such hospitality out of your own home day in and day out.

ok- expensive for what you get
close to restraunts and 10 minutes from aiport- but not much privacy- small rooms- and a bit pricy for what you get. the outside balcany was very nice- and lori the owner offered us wine on arrival which was nice- but her 4 dogs barked all night and we heard fireworks for an hour when we were there (unforseen circumstances). nice place to stay if your looking for b and b but if you want your own space, privacy, choose hampton inn or holiday inn closer to the airport- this b and b did not offer free shuttle service which is says - so just be prepared to pay for a taxi

Our website does NOT offer free transfers. It says transfers are available. When I respond to a client I usually add($20) from the airport. It is $15 to the airport. As for the dogs--My dogs are put in & do not bark all nite--But I have no control over the neighbors dogs! You obviously had the Q. room. This is our smallest room. The other 2 are quite large. Approx. 15X20 Ft. You should have checked out the other rooms also. As for the Fireworks---That is C.R.!! Just about every celebration , they use Fireworks! Sorry that you were inconvenienced in anyway, but a B & B is known for it's warm friendly atmosphere , comradery & great breakfasts.

Home away from home
This is a lovely B&B run by the fabulous Laurie. She welcomed us into her home as if old friends and we were only staying one night. Situated between the two San Jose airports it's perfect for one night stopovers or longer stays. The en-suite room was conformtable and nicely decorated - unfortunately we din't get to sample the full breakfast due to a very early departure but the banana bread we were packed of with was delicious. We loved it! Of course if you prefer to stay in corporate places and not speak to the staff, this is not the place for you!!

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Haus hat eine schöne offene und helle Aufteilung mit Wendeltreppe. Das Zimmer ist geräumig und gemütlich eingerichtet. Vom Zimmer kommt man direkt in das ebenfalls große geräumige Bad. Zum Wohlfühlen.
