La Union Get Away

The place is beautiful and the customer service is fine. There's just a small dead cockroach in one room and another at the rest room. It could have been improved if it will be checked prior receiving guests so they could remove it plus we lack one towel during the stay which could have checked as well. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. It is accessible to a lot of restaurants and other places to visit.

The Mediterranean style is quaint, the facilities are nice although basic. You can eat on site from a limited selection of cafeteria style foods, you can swim in the pool but not allowed in the ocean or watch TV. For anything else you need to go into San Juan township. What was disappointing is the booking website (expedia) says they have an in-room safe to store your valuables, but there was none. Its only available at the office.

The room (209) was located in the second floor and was clean. There was a small split AC, but it was not cooling enough the entire room, maybe due to high ceiling space. No ironing board and flat iron, no hair dryer, no clock/radio or alarm. There is a small flat screen TV and a small fridge and there is complimentary water and instant coffee (3 in 1) for two guests. The bathtub had a small water leak near the door when the shower is used. There is a portable hot water. Water is strong. The room and bathroom lighting is not bright. Need additional lights. There is no telephone or fax.

Untrained staff, maintenance issues

This place is less than two years old and already has maintenance issues. Our bedsheet had unpleasant stains on it, handles on the furniture were missing or broken, the shower curtain had a lot of black mold growing on it. No soap and no toilet paper in room upon arrival. Breakfast was included but only continental or filipino. With a room rate of 4000 pesos none of this should occur. But the most shocking of all was after my breakfast when I wanted to take a banana of which they had about 20 in a basket next to the bar counter, I was told I can´t have one, these are for making shakes!!! Wow! So kind, so generous!!! Wifi in the restaurant didn't work, in the room only a weak signal. The pool is nice but only 4 deck chairs for 32 rooms and not an inch of shade but a designated smoker's area right next to it. Despite being direct beachfront not one room seems to have ocean view, the outside window is only 80 cm wide and strangely even the first room next to the beach has only a rock solid stone wall facing the ocean. They must have found this building plan on the internet. We were happy to leave after a night, especially since big waves made any swimming in the ocean impossible.

It had a great pool. The service from the staff was great. They were very nice. The room was big. Enjoyed how quiet it was at this location. Great parking ! The beach was ok. Great place for the value.

Hotel is clean. Customer service is terrible. Forgot to give us wifi information, no hangers, no 24 hour customer service. No signs/tag for cleaning.
