"Owners friendly and willing to make your stay as comfortable as possibile. The owner ( Vincenzo) was happy to prepare a warm flask of water each evening for my ' cuppa' of British tea! There is a swimming pool adjacent to the establishment for a small fee & the sea is literally 5 minutes away."

"We had the most wonderful stay! Maria Teresa is so kind and very helpful. You will receive a warm welcome from her, your lovely host. This was an incredible and unique experience in such a lovely old castle and friendly village. I can't wait to come back and bring more people with me to experience the same. "Giovanna greeted us when we arrived and took care of us for the 3 day visit. It’s right in the heart of Cosenza. Perfect location, breakfast was included at a bar across the street to get the local Italian experience. We really enjoyed our stay."

"Pulling up to Tenuta Contessa was like a dream. It was a quiet time with very few guests when we stayed. The pool area was lovely but the showstopper was the food and the chef, Pietro. He was personable and made us family style meals according to what we wanted. Very accommodating. The views here are also spectacular surrounding the entire property. "

A room with an amazing view.

"On the plus side, the property, location and views were fantastic. Our room was large and full of character and it wasn't expensive. On the negative side, the breakfasts were a bit disappointing compared to other places we stayed, especially the first one where all the bread was stale. We found the host efficient, and willing to book restaurants for us, but not particularly welcoming or friendly. Our room had very little storage for our clothes so we ended up living out of our suitcases. There was only 1 pillow each. The bathroom had nowhere to hang your towels. We also got bitten by mosquitos in the room."

"The hotel was great from the food to the service. Everyone was very kind and treated us like family. They even picked us up at the train station in Paola and drove us to attractions we wanted to see! We couldn’t have asked for better service and a better experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who plans on visiting this area with their loved ones. "

"Our dining experience was amazing. Chef Giordano was very attentive and professional. Our servers made our dinner enjoyable. I didn’t like the fact that there was nobody attending the lobby bar. They had to call somebody from the restaurant to serve us every time we needed a drink. "
