Great weekend getaway

We booked the weekend to meet up with friends in Vermilion and this little family owned spot exceeded our needs. The cabin is very clean and comfortable even if it is a bit on the small side. The mini fridge was a welcome surprise. Very quiet and peaceful sitting next to the lake in early part of day. 100% would stay again. Close to both Huron and Vermilion.

I only spent one night here but kind of wish I could have stayed longer. I stayed in one of the small cabins. The shower is small but it worked, had good water pressure and was all I needed. The cabin was clean and perfect for what I wanted and needed. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

Our room had a strange odor but service was great, cost was much lower than other options, rooms were comfortable, the small beach area was perfect for my kids to play and find sea glass. We will definitely be back!

We selected this property because we had an overnight requirement in the area. The property was chosen because of its affordability and proximity to our activities. The room was nice, clean, and perfect for our needs. The only drawback is the room had no coffee maker which is a significant morning starter for us.

A Mom and Pop motel/cabins. Surrounded by a cornfield. This quiet and comfortable little cabin was perfect for what I needed. Lake Huron is at the end of the property for skilled swimmers. Bring some charcoal if you want to BBQ.

Kids can explore lake beach

The manager made sure I can easily get my room key after office hours and scheduled when I could pay for my stay. Rooms of main building are accessible to parking right outside each door. The little cabins were cute, too. There is a path down from the fire pit area of the last cabin, down to the beach. My grandsons who at first were disappointed that the pool was not open yet May 18 then truly enjoyed exploring the beach and will remember Lake Huron!

The guy who ran the place acted something awful because we checked the beds first thing. We do that anywhere we stay for our safety. The TV barely worked, the Wi-Fi signal was poor which affected the tv as well. Had a nice view of Lake Erie though, I did like that. But overall it was poor for the stay.

Excellent location and although older property, very clean. Only negative was checking in. I was traveling for work and was unable to check in until around 6. The front office was locked and took someone several minutes to arrive. If this place had more staffing it would be excellent. Front office says someone usually not working past 8:00PM so I do not know what really someone would do if one had to check in late.

Expedia apparently made a mistake and only booked us for 6 days instead of 7 and on the last day they requested the extra day rate which we gladly paid bug then asked us to move to another room since they needed the room for another guest and told us they had every right to do so since Expedia made the mistake. We were already out and they asked us to come back to love our things or the maids could move it. We declined until we were back. Once we got back to move things they said they handled it . But it really put a bad taste in our mouth about booking with hotels.com due to booking mistake.

The property itself was gorgeous-lots of trees, birds and a beautiful view of the lake. However, the room we stayed in was less than expected. It wasn't filthy-the sheets and towels were obviously laundered and it was an okay place to sleep-but it definitely wasn't what I would call clean (both bathrooms had hair and debris on the floor). I also understand everything being dated-that's fine-but at some point, you have to start replacing broken or extremely worn out items. Also, and it wasn't a big deal for this particular trip as I was travelling with my husband and father-in-law, was the door itself. I don't mind actual keys, but the deadbolt doesn't work, and the handle that has the other lock is barely holding on. I could have easily made entry into the room without the key, and as a small lady who travels alone frequently, that would have been a deal breaker the first day for me solo (I understand the area is safe but you really never know). Lastly, the owner is very gruff, and acted like we were putting him out for a)asking to check in late even though according to the sign on their front door that is a VERY common occurrence and b)letting him know the air unit in the main room wasn't working correctly. We ended up leaving a day early due to other circumstances, but I wasn't sad to leave.

View was awesome , but felt like we were intruding on guest staying at the end cabins. Housekeeping not the best, cobwebs and spiders in corners of both rooms we stayed in. Pretty sure the sheets were not changed from last guest and windows were very dirty. After cleaning the room, making the bed and washing the windows. We had a great stay. I think the place needs some TLC, improvement on housekeeping and some maintenance on the property. I probably would stay there again if I was assured that things had improved. The staff was very polite and helpful and all the outer guest were very friendly. It was a nice homtown community feel. the beds were very comfortable and we slept well once the sanitary conditions were improved. Shouldn’t have to clean your own room but be prepared.

We came to town for a wrestling tournament, Enjoyed our stay, it was quiet, pool was clean and a nice walk down the lake to a little beach on the property. Clean rooms. Friendly staff and accommodating.
