This villa was advertised as being near downtown Ubud, but in reality, it was located far out in the countryside, nowhere close to the city. "Stay was during May-25 at the Akohara retreat in Ubud. On arrival greeted by staff with flower garland, drinks and local traditional dance. This is definitely a couples retreat. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. "We liked everything! The place is very quiet in a tranquil forest. Pande is the best, this guy is doing literally everything for the guests to have a lovely stay! Villas are spacious, clean and a really nice design. It's absolutely gorgeous to wake up and enjoy the view and the sound of birds and river! Breakfast very delicious. "The villas are incredibly well made, and everything is just so easy to organise! The area around the villas is what I had pictured when I thought of “original ubud” which is what our driver said about the area. The street is quiet - no traffic- and an ebike tour was the most traffic we saw the whole time. "Had the absolute best time at Ayung Resort! The staff were absolutely amazing and we loved getting to go to tea time in the afternoon and hang by the beautiful pool. We had a driver, Rena, pick us up from the airport and he was the best tour guide ever —sweetest man ever and we spent the entire next day with him having him show us around the island! Couldn’t recommend him enough!!"
