"The location was good and very peaceful, but also close to the shopping area, which was nice. The staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the bed which was shown at the time of booking was different from the beds available when we reached the hotel. We booked at this hotel specifically because we thought there would be one whole, solid double bed. Instead, the bed was made of two single beds pushed together, with no mattress pad on top. Van der Valk Hotel Groningen Westerbroek

"The hotel is in a quiet area just outside Groningen. Easy to reach by car and if you wish to visit the city centre the P+R is convenient. Car parking is free and plentiful. Our room had a balcony and views over the countryside. The room itself was spacious and spotless. The reception staff were polite friendly and knowledgeable. We had dinner on both nights of our stay in the restaurant which was in my opinion excellent. It offered a wide variety of dishes for a very reasonable cost. Again the staff were top class. If I am in the area again this hotel will be my go to. "
