Great location by Ballard Avenue which is a beautiful historic street with fantastic restaurants, bars and stores. It does get loud at night here, the only negative. Wore ear plugs at night and all was well.

Fun little hotel in central Ballard. It's not super clear but you do not have an attached bathroom. You have to leave your room, walk down the hall to the shared bathrooms. We had 3 single toilet rooms with one shower for 6 rooms. Once we got use to idea it was fine. So glad I had slippers but wish I had flip fops for the shower. This is an upscale hostel setting so be aware. That being said, the area is great! Fantastic restaurants and music venues all around. We woke up to the Sunday farmers market and it was a joy to walk thru all the stalls. Ask for the second floor if you like your windows open. Floor one is sidewalk level.

The images are pretty deceiving. We stayed in a room with a full bed for almost $300 - it was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. The room needs some major updates, and it was SO dang hot. The location was nice - I was traveling to work and could easily grab a nightcap since it was downtown Ballard. I would have felt better paying $125 for this room. Staff was super nice!

Very friendly staff, stayed in the Inn with Euro bathroom which was fine. Our air condition unit was disconnected from the window which wasn’t apparent and it recycled hot air into the room. If you desire a quiet stay was a little lacking as the 100 level ks along an alley way and you can hear everyone finishing up their nights hooting and hollering. The bathrooms were not assessed for cleanliness during our one night stay, but other patrons were respectful. Bed was super comfy and room was as advertised, coffee in lobby in the morning.

Caveat emptor - know what you're getting into. This is a European style, youth hostel type set up with only a few rooms having ensuite bathrooms (they provide bathrobes.) Those that do are supposedly very tiny - closet-like with doors that barely open. We stayed in room 208 for five nights and it was towards the back of the hotel and just across from the toilets and showers. No elevator so be aware you'll have to lug your stuff down a long hallway and up a bunch of stairs. Yes, it was loud at times but you're on Ballard Avenue so that's to be expected. No desk staff but rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. Free access to the Olympic health club across the street is a bonus.

The parking can be difficult to navigate if you are not familiar with the area. I was not aware that I had to register at one location and stay in another, so that was a bit overwhelming. Also, not having a bathroom in the room was a bit frustrating. However, the property itself was great, and the staff was extremely helpful!

Ballard has many options for dining and is near the locks which are a must see. Ballard Inn is perfectly situated in the middle of everything.

The staff was very helpful and friendly- we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The history of the the location was very interesting as well. We were able to walk to the Ballard Locks and the Botanical Garden from the inn.

As long as you are ok with the shared bath situation, this little sister of Hotel Ballard is a great deal. Ideally located, very comfortable beds, and way quieter than we expected given the busy and vibrant neighborhood. Staff was great as well.
