The hotel is clean and well maintained, but the building and rooms definitely feel dated. There are no USB outlets anywhere, so you’ll need to bring your own adapters to charge devices. The restaurant is good overall, but the quality isn’t consistent. I ordered the same dish twice — it was excellent the first time, but disappointing the second. Staff are friendly, but you really need to know some Spanish here; English is limited. Despite the quirks, it’s a comfortable stay and I rate it 4 stars.

Quick overnight stop in historic town

Very pleasant one night stay . Hotel has a beautiful reception area and gardens. Our room was bright and sunny with views. We walked into Sergovia - about 25 mins though there are 2 buses which would take you there too.

The room and bathroom were very good.The communal areas were very nice. the location was away from the tourist area but was walkable in 30 minutes and the bus stop located directly outside the hotel was convenient. Buses every 15 minutes and not expensive. The major disappointment was that the outdoor swimming pool was closed. If we were made aware of this during or after the booking process then we would have chosen a different hotel.

SUPERB QUALITY STAY

Forget anything negative you may have read about this hotel …. It’s absolutely fabulous. The room was very spacious with luxurious carpets opening onto our own private courtyard. The bed was superb and the quality of the bed linen was superb; as were the pillows. The en-suite bathroom was well appointed with separate shower and toilet cubicles. The bath towels were superb quality and a very generous size. I can’t comment on breakfast as I prefer to have only a coffee but, I did take a look and was impressed by the selection and quality. We did however take an evening meal in the restaurant and the service and food were superb. All the staff were helpful and polite and the free parking felt secure as we could park our motorcycles next to the main entrance. Would I stay here again? Most certainly YES.

If you don’t have a car, this may not be the hotel for you cause it’s not close to the center of Segovia. You will need to spend lots of money on Uber or taxi. They have a swimming pool and paddle court. Kids enjoyed them. FYI, they need $20 deposit for pool towels and paddle/balls. We love the breakfast - lots of choices. Fresh fruit were great. Kitchen staff were all pleasant. I’m not sure if I can say the same with the receptionists however. I don’t usually rate the staff but the ladies behind that counter were not the most pleasant nor helpful. I stayed in 3 different hotels in this trip (Madrid and Valencia) and that’s why I’m spending time to rate the staff in this hotel. The staff on the other two hotels were pleasant, approachable, helpful and and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable and welcome. They were not stuck up which I’m afraid how I would describe the receptionists at Hotel Candido. We will be back in Segovia for the next four years but I doubt I will stay at this hotel again.

Nice rooms, very few amenities, no coffee in the rooms, Outdoor pool was not open yet, but looked ready, (34 degrees outside. People sitting in the lawn, lounge chairs weee locked up , asked to pay 12 euros each to use the indoor pool!!! Was once a nice hotel, a little dated and will nickel and dime you. Stuffy atmosphere

Expedia let us down...searched for hotel with indoor pool. Candido has one, but inside the spa which is closed Monday-Tuesday. I searched for indoor pool for a Tuesday night stay. Expedia should not have shown the hotel. Though what hotel says they have a kid friendly pool and have it closed two days a week?
