"Stayed in renovated room. Nothing exciting about the rooms. Drab bathrooms. Food not worth talking unfortunately (even the local food is boring) about but plentiful. No alcohol allowed on premises but smoking is allowed everywhere. Wifi only at reception area. Pool seems to have under repairs for sometime."

"We had a fantastic time at Alunan and really glad we booked here for half our stay on the Perhentian. Room - Spacious and very clean, having the deck upstairs is also a really nice touch Food - Probably the best food we ate on the Perhentian islands, both western and Malay options availabl. It is slightly more expensive but worth it in our opinion. Breakfast with the room was also great, fresh roti canai were really nice. Staff - super welcoming and friendly, especially Cel, who really made sure we were looked after the entire stay. Facilities - great quiet location, with snorkelling right off the beach, easy access to hiking path and other trips. Only hotel with an infinity pool on the island too, which we used to cool off at the end of each day!"

"The hotel room furniture is old and sad state. The bed should be changed to high quality mattress. The hotel has a bit of traditional vibe. They have hot shower too. The room furniture and breakfast options are huge disappointment. I hope the hotel management can invest more to improve the quality."

"Very nice hotel, and the best hotels in Malaysia ever. Professional people, many activities, good facilities, beautiful and convenient beach, But need to improve the dining level."

"Cons: Old property, bathrooms need a lot of work. The rooms need to be refurbished. Pro: Very good location, walking distance to eateries and waterfront. Breakfast overlooking the river was nice."

"Guesthouse familiale. Acceuil chaleureux, nourriture excellente. Je recommande cet endroit avant tout à celles et ceux qui recherchent un endroit convivial, dans environnement calme et reposant. Ma chambre était simple, mais me convenait pour les quelques jours passés sur place."
