Really nice hotel, great staff
Cozy and quiet hotel with clean rooms and tasteful décor. Breakfast selection was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There's no elevator but the other positives more than make up for it. Would not hesitate to choose it again.

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance to some of the more popular attractions, restaurants, shops, and the ocean! The staff are among the most courteous, helpful, and friendliest we've ever encountered. Special thanks to Sebastian, Ana, and Patricia for looking after us and offering their respective expertise and suggestions, and who made us feel part of their family! The premise is very quaint and comfortable, the room is more than adequate for two people and includes the basic amenities, bar-fridge, safe, TV, a typical "continental" breakfast, and a stocked coffee machine in the room! Although listed as a 3-Star, the service received and the condition of the recently refreshed interiors, left us feeling it is definitely worthy of a higher rating . . . If you're planning a visit to Setubal, the Rio Art Hotel is a must consideration for your stay.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Location is central to shopping and close to the boardwalk by the ocean. One suggestion: please install a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang up the bathrobe and towel. I enjoyed this quiet little town, Setubal, which I discovered for the first time. Thank you Rio Art staff for making my stay so enjoyable.

The artwork in the common areas and room was beautiful. The front desk staff were extraordinary!! Extremely helpful and thoughtful. They printed out a bike route and train route for us. Amazing people! Comfortable bed. Area close to restaurants.

Excellent stay
This place did not disappoint. From check in, with a lovely welcome drink and a very knowledgeable staffer, to check out. Our room was larger than expected and it was cooler than expected so the extra blanket was a nice touch. The morning breakfast had a nice variety of offerings and coffee could be consumed at breakfast or with an in room machine. The front staff were always welcoming and suggested several places to eat and visit that did not miss. The location is great - provides the ability to walk along the water, easily visit the market or historical area, or walk up to Bonfim Park.

This was a beautiful hotel newly renovated in a century-old building. Lovely breakfast included. My only downfall was no elevator to ease the load of carrying luggage up two floors of stairs.

Very chic artsy hotel. Comfortable with friendly staff. Clean and a great breakfast buffet to start your day. Walking around the narrow streets was also a very nice experience. I’d recommend this hotel and would return if I travel this way again.

A Gem
Can’t say enough about this hotel. It’s a gem. We arrived late and planned to leave Setubal early the next morning. The staff was so welcoming, gave us a glass of a local wine, and told us about the town. We got up early and instead of leaving, we explored the town. The breakfast was great w hot and cold dishes. I’m planning on returning to the Rio Art hotel and seeing more of the area.

The staff was attentive, and always helpful. The room was comfortable, and the art was an added bonus. The common areas were always clean and well kept. I stayed in another hotel in the same area and the Rio was better in all areas, cleanliness, service, value, and much quieter.

The place to stay

Charming stay at Rio Art Hotel
We like everything about this hotel, and the service was exceptional. The location is great for exploring the surroundings and ferry access. There was a wine bottle on arrival and since the staff knew it was my birthday they brought a whole cake and sparkling wine. Everywhere in the hotel was extremely clean, breakfast more than adequate. We highly recommend.

Staying at Rio Art Hotel in Setubal was very pleasant! The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast with fresh organic eggs! We have chickens back home and know how fresh eggs should look and taste. The eggs they serve at breakfast were exactly that fresh! The town itself has a small town charm and we enjoyed exploring it!

Lovely hotel
We loved our stay at Rio Art Hotel. The included breakfast was fantastic, they had some delicious welcoming gifts in the room when we arrived, and we slept extremely well. It is perfectly located right in the town center and if you have a car they have free parking in a lot just down the street.

Highly recommend
Very good hotel in the most central location in Setubal. The staff in very friendly and the rooms are big enough and comfortable. From room 101 we had great view of the main avenue with an impressive Christmas tree. We will definitely recommend this hotel

Clean lovely boutique hotel. It was spotless !! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Location was fantastic, across from the heart of town, next to a huge grocery and the fish market was right there. The breakfast was really good with loads of choices. Great stay ! I think this was the best thing in Setabul !
