"The place is nice, however, staff loudly making comments regarding a convicted..... I don't want to use the word here.....lets just say a "disgraced Financier" as the media would say. Laughing and using positive language like "celebrity p********e"..... I found it extremely disgusting. On challenging use of the language in earshot of guests the response was equally as outrageous. One staff member freely excused it, for a reason I do not want to mention on public review as it is not my place to share the reasoning they gave. The fact they thought any reason justified talking like this within earshot of guests is absolutely astounding. On reporting to proprietor I was met with a response of "OK so are you leaving then?" I then asked what his thoughts were on disgusting comments like this he said he will have to ask the staff if they actually said it. I respect the fact your first reaction is to protect staff, however, training on professionalism and standards is lacking. If you want to support staff support the correctly by providing correct training. "

"We were given a spa voucher as a present and decided to treat ourselves and book in for the night. We were not disappointed. This hotel is worth its 5 star rating and more. The spa was lovely, especially the view over the golf course and out to the Ailsa Craig. The hotel was quite quiet due to the time of year so we were lucky to be upgraded to a suite. (That never happens to me!) The room was spotless and the staff were very attentive without being too overbearing. We started off saying that this would be a one off but are already making arrangements to return for longer. "

"This island is a truly beautiful place to visit. Our host Mitch ,left lots of useful information inside our room. Plus his own personal knowledge. If you want amazing hill views , a relaxed environment and friendly locals it's a great place to visit. Allendale house is very easy to find. Get off the ferry .. turn left and aim up hill. Take your second left and your there. Making it an easy walk into Brodick. Good news for people wanting to do goat fell . The main road also goes to holy island , a nice walk featuring a waterfall and the giants graves close by. "
