"The Sanderling is an excellent resort that is well maintained and full of amenities. The staff is professional, friendly, and courteous. We had a fantastic king suite with an ocean view. Please be aware that the building does not have elevators, so we had to lug our suitcases up and down four flights of stairs to our third-floor room. Navigating stairs is also the only way into the main entrance, so be prepared to carry your luggage—not exactly ADA-compliant. Additionally, our room featured two very large TVs: one in the living room and one in the adjacent bedroom. While convenient, both remotes operated both TVs simultaneously; turning on the bedroom TV would cause the living room TV to turn on to its previous channel and volume level, which was frustrating. With all of that said, the Sanderling is still a wonderful choice for a beach vacation in the Outer Banks!"
"Great location and amenities. Helen went above and beyond to assist us. Property was clean. A little updating needed. Would highly recommend and hope to return."
"Room did what it needed to do for a visit to Elizabeth City for ECSU Homecoming. Room was clean enough, parking was plentiful, location was close to everything (at most 15 minutes away) that I needed to do while in the city. Met my needs for this visit."
"Appreciated the use of bicycles and rescue by Peggy when the lock jammed.
Good breakfast options, friendly staff in the morning.
Location is lovely. Sunset views and proximity to the beach and the lighthouse"
