"We stayed 2 nights in June 2026 and were given what was called a premium room. I don’t know what that meant. But the room was located on the back ridge behind the playground with a great sunset view! It was not rustic (no camper here!) and had all the amenities you need - fridge, Starbucks pods for Kuerig, back porch with 2 chairs and side table, kitchen table with 2 chairs. TV only had like 10 channels but given how little service and tech there is in the park, that seemed fine to me! The restaurant here is good too- but definitely sit in the dining room or outside patio for premium views (tap room is not as nice). I’ve never stayed inside a national park before so that was a great experience. Day 1 we traveled north and dined in Front Royal and day 2 we traveled south and ate in Waynesboro (definitely recommend the River burger bar there - awesome spot!). Since there’s no service in park I recommend getting the GuideAlong app so you can see the park map and know all the hotspots to check out- it works even in the sos cell service zone)."
"Check in was easy, front desk people very cheerful and friendly. Stayed on 2nd floor, room very clean. Peaceful night sleep followed by an outstanding country gravy breakfast."
"Where can I begin, first of all from tve moment I arrive EVERYONE had a smile on their faces. The energy was amazin! Then when we got inside of our room, I felt like I was at home. Very cozy and peaceful. I’ll be back sooner rather than later. This is my new peace!
Thank you all for an awesome and amazing weekend!"
"On website gave impression there was a small resturant and bar. I wouldn’t consider it either. The staff was great and lots of places to eat outside of hotel."
"The staff was pleasant and act right away upon our request to have one of the bed redone due to the amount of dog hair left on the sheets and bankets. We do not have a dog! Be aware that is a motel pet friendly. The room was nice & big but could use a thorough cleaning! Otherwise, very pretty place!"
"Good location right off the highway. Had parking available nearby to accommodate a 20’ U-Haul truck and car carrier. Clean room tho sadly I had difficulty sleeping on the mattress."
