The room is basic but clean, we were put in the 2nd floor so it’s not ideal for people with mobility issues, but for a room in a pub and for the money is adequate

Very convenient in central Sherborne. Room was very clean and roomy, but the reception area and staircase is tired looking and needs decoration

This is a very old building, quaint and just across the road from Sherborne Abbey. There is on-site parking (which I didn't use) and it is about 7 minutes walk from the station (which I did use). It is right in the town centre, which is a delight to explore, with a number of good restaurants nearby.

We had a dodgy meal on the first night but other meals later in the week were really good.

Very poor value for money. Caped off wine hanging from bedroom ceiling, broken window catch in bathroom, shower curtain much too short, soap dispenser broken, WC unsafe, altogether very poor maintenance and very grubby.

The heating did not work so both the bar area and the rooms / corridors were freezing. The bathroom looked like a cheap renovated London flat, cheap plastic wall coverings, black mould, toilet did not flush properly, sink was blocked. Paper thin adjoining walls/rooms. Staff were fine ,but the place was terrible.

Staff helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. Bedroom fine though a heating problem kept us chilly on the coldest 2 nights for a while!!! A big comfy bed but bathroom needs a bit of up-dating. Food good. Good selection of beers behind bar.
