"My husband and I were traveling back home from our honeymoon, and when we got to the hotel the front desk ignored us for at least 5 minutes, then rudely told us they were closed. I had mentioned the room had been booked already, but he basically told us to get a refund through customer service and find a different hotel. No explanation, no sorry, nothing. So I did. And I’m glad I did because when I got to the second hotel, they explained that there was severe weather that had taken out the power in the area BUT they still honored our booking and did not push us away. Would not come back"

"Room was large and comfortable. We were there during a storm that took out power from the evening through the morning of our departure. The Inn had emergency lighting in the hallways but not in the rooms. Breakfast was very limited (no hot food or drink) because of the power outage."

"When I came into the town of Shipshewana at 3ish I noticed that the traffic signals was not working and found out before checking in that there was no electricity in the entire town because of a storm overnight. So I went ahead and put my luggage in the room and continued on to my destination in town that had a generator running. I came back to the hotel at 8pm and found out that it still didn't have power. The room was 85 degrees and I have a cpac machine so I can sleep. So I chose to turn my door card in and leave. I know that staff is not at fault for storm outages but neither am I. I felt that I was going to be taken advantage of by charging me for unbearable conditions of the facilities. I hope that Expedia and this hotel treats me well with this unfortunate ordeal."

"This is a terrible place. I have no idea how it receives such a high rating. Walls are in need of repair, no shower gel and the girl didn't know how to replace it, beds are horrible - when you sit on the edge you have to be careful not to fall off, floors are dirty and there was no hot water. Not the worst place, but the worst in a long time."
