8.6/10 Excellent! (260 reviews)
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Papa Whale. Having a variety of coffee down stairs is a life saver. Moreover, daily Taiwanese tea eggs is a treat. The staff is nice, the room is clean and the bed is very comfortable. The AC is powerful to fight against the hot summer weather. I highly recommend getting Taiwanese Mon Tou bread from across the street. Thank you, Papa Whale staff.

This is an issue I have had in traveling to Asia overall with how prevalent smoking still is there. The first room I was in had a second hand smoke smell. I went to the front desk and they were able to move me to a different floor. That room was in the same stack of rooms so it also had the smell. It must be coming through the vents or something. The front desk then moved me to a third room in a different area that was good. After that my stay was great.

"There are some good things about this hotel but overall I don’t think it deserves 5 stars. The best thing about it is the location, it’s got its own beach access and is also an easy walk to Kenting street. The pool is also nice, although they close it in the middle of the day for cleaning. They have ..."

"Sensational hotel, amazing staff. It is on a stunning location and is a beautiful building. We highly recommend this. To get to “5” (which I rarely give) it would need to rotate the menu once per week (it need only have two menus and alternate them weekly) and get the pool staff to give you water ..."
