My wife and I prefer boutique type properties as they have personality. The AMOY and its staff had an exceptional personality, like an old friend you havent seen in years. All of the staff were exceptional. Emily, thank you for the Happy Honeymoon printout and cake. My wife is better with names so thank you to all the other staff that were equally exceptional.

Had a wonderful stay here. Conveniently located by dining options and the MRT. They were kind enough to let me change rooms during the middle of my stay to one that suited me more. Breakfast is included at Genius Central next door, which is a great spot for coworking.

There was an open, consumed can of soft drink left in the minibar refrigerator of my room of this โ€œSingapore Cleanโ€ hotel. Concerned the room hadnโ€™t been adequately cleaned, I requested another. The only one they had was at the top of the building - hot, with a very noisy air conditioner, and construction noise nearby. It eased up around 3am, which meant instead I could divert my attention to the incredibly hard mattress that I wasnโ€™t sleeping on. When I took a shower the next morning, I was further disappointed to see hair and dirt beneath the timber slats of the shower. I asked for my money back - I was offered an extended check out, which I accepted, and 50% off my next stay, which I did not. Iโ€™m a huge advocate of boutique hotels but I cannot offer a positive review for Amoy Hotel. Management does not take customer experience seriously. With the impressive Shrine entrance also currently closed, the best things I can offer is that the FOH staff are lovely (but disempowered) and that breakfast at Genius Central next door was brilliant. Skip the stay and head straight to the cafe.
