The last Hotel 81 I stayed at was better. Property looked old and the room had cracks and a couple of stains in the ceiling. The hotel staff were good. Bed was very comfortable!

Like most Hotel 81 properties, this is a no frills hotel but the area around Joo Chiat has a huge variety of dining options. Hotel is safe, clean but the area is a huge plus. It has always been a residential area and is still one, albeit more gentrified than before. A safe area with tremendous dining options. However, you are about 15-20 mins walk to the nearest MRT (Eunos).

Hotel was clean with a great staff. It was also great value for the money. The rooms are not huge and hall noises could be heard. But you cannot find a better hotel for the dollars in Singapore. The location was excellent with many restaurants nearby to eat at. And if you ever needed transportation the hotel staff could always arrange a taxi. I am from the USA would recommend this hotel highly to friends who want a clean hotel and a nice stay at a lower price.

A great location at one of Singapore's must see spots with a lot of food and rich in history. The sound proofing of the room was really bad. You can hear the people talking and walking outside.

Check in was pretty poor. Room was very basic but had a bed, toilet and shower ! Very thin and not sound proofed .. someone having sex down the corridor wasn’t difficult to hear. Positive - it was only one night stay

It was a good stay. The only problem is that the maybe walls are a little bit thin. I can hear water running throughout the whole night and I checked multiple times if I left the shower or sink on and mine was not turned on at all.
