Check-in took 45mins. As hotel was partially under construction, there wasnt enough space for everyone checking in to be on the same floor. Impossible to book pool slot as only 8pax were allowed at the pool per hour. So probably only 60-70 guests are able to book a slot per day??

Decent but lacklustre...
It was alright - and that's not great for a 5 star, premium type of hotel. The room was good, but the TV remote was wonky and often not working. The IPTV / smart TV system is very dated. It says you can order food on it, but you actually can't (service was probably removed due for operational reasons). It's very difficult to book the pool (you're only given 1 hour of usage for the entire stay, which is ridiculous - compared to many other 5 star hotels in SG). The reality is few people actually use the pool despite booking it, so the pool is underutilised (often below 8 pax) - and the pool attendant isn't flexible (or isn't allowed to be flexible) about it. They don't attempt to accommodate late checkouts (even if it's an hour). Overall, good but lacklustre.

Service/food needs improvement.
It was a staycation with the family. Was not happy with the first room I was given. Was shown two more and finally ended up with the older style rooms which was brighter and more spacious The newer renovated rooms on the higher floors felt 'cold' and similar to the room at Amara Sanctuary which we didn't like. However, Nara from reservation was accomodating and helped me find a room I liked as it was during HP2 where we could not dine out nor use the pool/gym. Was unhappy with room service though, waited for close an hour for my extra satay peanut sauce to arrive. One of the dishes we ordered was satay but the peanut sauce was insufficient. We called room service for some extra and waited for almost an hour. I called them three times but it was still not delivered. In the end I complained to the duty manager. Room service called me back and offered another plate of satay asked if I wanted to try beef, which I did but the unfortunate part was the beef was not fresh and not fully cooked. It was a ruined first night for us. Our purpose was to enjoy the room service but the kids did not want to order room service after the bad experience from the first night. Also the quality of the famous chicken rice has dropped. It was nothing like it's heyday. The soup had lettuce in it and it tasted like soup for wontons, with seafood flavourings. Didn't taste like the traditional chicken rice soup that was usually served.

A bad stay
Bad service. While other hotels swimming pool is open, yours is closed. This is the first time that there is a charge for requesting for ice! Your car park is so inaccessible, unkempt and small. Your pillows are too soft and caused a neck ache. Your hotel lobby is hot and stuffy.
