The location is good. Room was a bit on the small side and sorry not able to get upgraded. Expedia recognition is not automatic, you have to remind them.

The hotel is a five star hotel and comes with the expectation that the services, room conditions, dinning and facilties are first class. Indeed these are very much of great satisfaction. The only negative comment I made here is that my Expedia VIP previlege was not honoured by Shangri-La. I was supposed to receive complimentary breakfast for the whole of my stay but the hotel declined to offer me this benefit. Naturally I was deeply disappointed and would question if Expedia has misled its VIP customers.

It was crowded due to holiday season. Japanese restaurant closed permanently. Hard to book chinese restaurant and even the lobby lounge has limited availabilities. Booked private tennis sessions with hotel confirmation, first time no show of the coach (!) and second time cancellation from the coach - very disappointing. I didn’t feel very welcomed and had to request several times about my gold membership benefits as the hotel didn’t address automatically. In the end I got late check-out and discount on food & beverages, but the experience of asking and negotiating was unpleasant. Room and bathroom are smaller compared to equivalent luxury hotels I used to stay in Singapore. I’m a frequent business traveler not occasional holiday maker.
