"The place was okay, the owner rude and arrogant. Also, they charged me extra "tax"although I was already paid once I booked the apartment. Obviously no receipt had been provided. Smelled fishy to me..."

"This hotel is beautiful both outside and inside. It is too far to walk to town center, but it only takes several min drive to get to the town center if you have a car. Free parking outside of the yard of the hotels. The only two disadvantages are not able to use wifi inside the room (but wifi in the breakfast room works fine) and no electric hot water kettle available. If the WIFI works fine inside the hotel room, definite I will return to stay in this hotel in the future."

"This is one of the most beautiful, culturally authentic boutique hotels in which I have ever stayed. Vast rooms with authentic Hungarian decor. Out room geatured carved wood, a sitting area, a private walled outside area, an adjacent excellent restaurant, a good and copious breakfast. Quiet. A short walk to an atea of little restaurants and wine bars. The Hotel’s outdoor restaurant tables are under a vast, overhead grape arbor. Take the two-hour train ride to Eger from Budapest, FREE if you are over 65, as is all public transport in Hungary. Train was modern and clean. The whole country is underrated, in my view."

"Pros: The property is close to the centre of Màtrafüred, where the restaurants are, and it is also close to the hiking trails. It has a pool (though it is a bit dated) a kitchen and dining area for guests to use, as well as a sauna and a nice back garden in the woods. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and the room was clean. Cons: The property is right next to the main road, so if you have a room that faces that side, it is very noisy. I could hear the traffic even through my earplugs. It was very umpleasant as i was expecting a nice peaceful stay in Màtra. The rooms have soundproofed doors, but the walls are very thin. I could even hear my neighbours talking! My (double) room had a tiny bathroom, i don't think a larger person would have been able to move around in it or even sit on the toilet properly. The reception was not always manned, so guests had to call to get someone over to check them in, open the pool, etc etc."
