"The hotel is rural but looks nice with a beautiful area around it. Our room was very small however and for the price I was expecting more. The breakfast was included with the stay and was tasty. The staff was friendly. The true highlight was seeing the auroras for the first time. "

"Beautiful location. Cabin is spacious facing a lake. Very beautiful. Heated floor, friendly staff. The onsite dinner is outstanding! Great place to see northern light. Unfortunately we did not see one during our stay. The only complaint is hot water in the shower only lasted about 10 minutes then ice cold. The breakfast is limited and dull. "

I also met some truly wonderful people during my stay, which made the experience even more special. One of the most magical parts of my time here was the Northern Lights. Just a short walk behind the hostel in the evening, I had the most incredible aurora experience - it truly felt surreal. If the skies are clear and the conditions align, this is such a beautiful and accessible spot to witness them. I would highly recommend Fox Hostel to anyone traveling in the Vík area. "check in went smooth. staff was friendly. Room was clean. Front desk didn't make any attempt to show us the northern lights. shower was bit smaller, it was so windy, i felt cold air in the room. need a better heating system"
