The location and condition of the hotel was superb! My only criticism was that there was as no air conditioning (cold air) due to the time of the year (March). This was very tough due to being on a high floor and the window only opened a few inches - it was boiling! There were no fans provided after I requested this - disappointing

the hotel was very close to the center, it was clean but the personnel did not speak good english. communication was not that easy. I had requested a parking place for my car in their parking lot and they offered me a parking spot on the street in front of the hotel for 19 euros per day and if I left after 19:30 I would not be able to park again.

It is about 800 metres from the Vitosha pedestrian area. Very easy to get there. Taxi's are everywhere and compared to my home country very cheap. They have metres so you do not have to discuss with the driver. The hotel is great with a nice somewhat modern look. The staff is very helpfull. There is only one thing that should be changed and that is the refrigerator in the dining area. It makes far too much noise.

We were meant to stay in the sister hotel, we were transferred to this hotel due to works at original booking and only notified the day before which was a bit unexpected as they must have known about the works in advance. We were promised a suite instead of superior room booked for our stay for the inconvenience. We didn't get the suite the first night but we asked why not and were told we got free breakfast instead. This was not made clear at check in. Once we questioned the situation we were upgraded to suite with terrace for remainder of stay which was a nice room. The staff were friendly and had good attitudes and were helpful. I think there could be improved communication in this hotel, for example once we were told we had free breakfast, this hadn't been passed on to the breakfast team. The hotel feels more like a 3 star but appreciate this varies by country and region. The breakfast is quite basic but good enough. The area for breakfast is quite busy and is quite tight for space. The standard room we stayed in the first night had no working air conditioning and this wasn't communicated at check in and when we told the receptionist the next day they said they knew already which raises the question as to why they didn't let us know. The room was very hot and made for a poor night's sleep, we had to open the window and there was a lot of noise outside. Sofia is a nice city, quite relaxed with good eating and drinking options. Not too much to see so allows time to relax.

Where to start. This hotel was magnificent from the start. Checked in, helped with parking advice. Went through all the relevant details. The room was spacious, tidy and exceeded expectations. Especially if you go for a suite. The views are worth it.
