This is a lovely, quiet, well-maintained hotel located a couple of blocks off the main center of the town of Solvang. Not too far in the other direction is Alisol Ranch and the golf course. Other than the beautiful front garden, and a smaller grassy area in the back, there are few amenities to speak of. At least there's a Keurig in the room and nice shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap. It would be nice if they offered a continental breakfast, especially since there are lots of bakeries in town.

I booked this stay it was listed at a much higher rate per night I checked it on line the day we arrived it was half the rate per night including taxes & fee's. I contacted the office at the property and was told I would have to contact Expedia who I booked it through to see about giving me an adjustment/credit. I was told by Expedia they would have to check with the property first so they put me on hold. They came back to me and said the property said they would not offer a credit/adjustment. That just tells me both the M Solvang and Expedia are only concerned about the profit and not about customer service. The one thing the office did offer the next day was to move us to a nicer room. But we were already unpacked and settled in the room we were in so we declined the offer. Now the property itself. The property is nice cottage like settings. The room was standard size. The website says the rooms have ceiling fans but the two rooms we looked at didn't. The website say's they offer vending machines but there wasn't any. The bed in the room we stayed in was terrible! It was like sleeping on a concrete floor it was so hard. It was the worst hotel bed I have ever slept on in my life. It was so bad I was counting the days before I could leave and sleep somewhere else and when you are on vacation the last thing you want to think about is how soon the trip will be over. Long story I did not get much sleep here. I will not use Expedia again nor will I stay at The M Solvang again.

This is a gem. Lovely boutique inn with tranquil gardens in the back. Got a two-room with a fireplace; traditional decor that felt like someone’s home. Couldn’t have been more pleased.

We had a really great experience staying at the M Solvang. They made checking in and out extremely easy and we loved how walkable it was to the main area. We would love to stay here again in the future!

The property is located on a corner of the village, making it quieter but still convenient for exploring the area. The amenities were average; don’t expect to be impressed. It has a typical motel arrangement, though with a cute little garden at the back, which was quite nice. It was challenging to find an outlet to charge phones since all the plugs were in use, so I had to be creative. There is a small fridge and a Keurig coffee machine in the room. The fridge is a bit loud and woke me up a few times, but it was still great to have it in the room. Overall, this is a good, average motel. I would consider staying there again, but only if I can get a very good deal.

If you have pets, this property is the place. The front garden area is perfect for a glass of wine, beautiful roses and plenty of grass for your pet. The back garden area is also extremely nice with a large grass area, tall shade trees and a few of the rooms even have a back door that opens directly to the courtyard area. I believe those rooms are mostly queen beds but having access to this beautiful back yard right from your rear door is fantastic. The property is about 3 blocks from the main street which is an easy walk and more quiet then right on Mission Drive. Plenty of parking on-site. There is a vintage motorcycle museum right across the street which is open on weekends. Be sure to check out Paula's Pancake House for breakfast which has outdoor seating, great Danish pancakes, and pet friendly. Lastly, if you need to pickup wine or groceries, there is a New Frontier store only a couple of miles away. It reminds me of a small Whole Foods.
