We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at The White Hart in Somerton. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room, it was very clean and comfortable. Great size bathroom with very soft towels. Breakfast and evening meals were exceptional. It is a lovely area to explore too.
A lovely old, characterful property, balanced with modern touches and a good restaurant/bar with well cooked good quality food both evenings and breakfast time plus a wide selection of drinks from the bar. The staff were fab!!
Lovely staff, lovely clean room, great grub but we were located by a noisy courtyard but that's a small thing and we should have known as it is a pub!
Great location in the heart of beautiful Somerton.
We will return!
The cheerfulness and all staff gave the impression that they really wanted us to enjoy our overnight stay, which we did. Dinner was excellent and breakfast too.
We were staying in room 2 which has a wonderful view over the small picturesque market place and church. Triple glazing meant it was much quieter than we had expected. Food was excellent and the service cheerful and attentive. Hard to fault.
Lovely place. The room was small but lovely, great shower and lovely fresh coffee in the room. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Only slight issue the room was very warm
The team who run the hotel are all incredibly friendly and helpful. They create a really positive vibe 24/7. What a lovely touch to bring a box of dog treats up to the room on arrival. Thank you.
Delicious food. We tested dinner, breakfast and lunch.
Staff wore masks at all times. Very spacious bar, lounge and restaurant so social distancing was not a problem at all. Very very safe.
All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable, clean bathroom, not sure about upcycled furniture especially in bathroom, but that is a personal view.
Check out the menu before booking, it’s limited as all cooked to order, we really enjoyed our meals, the quality of the food was great.
Only stayed for one night at the end of our holiday. Beautiful part of the country. Hotel comfortable, clean and nothing too much trouble. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We had an evening meal and breakfast it was exceptional. Thank you very much and we look forward to coming back.
I spent the first 10 years of my life in Somerton and I left in 1985 over the years it’s been a very special place for me and I’ve tried to visit as much as possible so on average once every four years and Somerton as well as Langport and the village I grew up in Pitney are the main places I choose to stay in about three years ago on my way back from Cornwall I stopped in Somerton and had lunch at the White Hart which historically was quite a rundown and to be quite honest a rough pub however I was greeted with a completely renovated and the new White Hart blew me away I understood from talking to the bar staff at the time that they also offer accommodation so I kept this in mind for future visits should I need to stay over we stayed over with my family just a few days ago and it was awesome hat off to these guys the amount of attention to detail and the cost of renovation must’ve been extremely high They seem to be maintaining a super high quality in all aspects from service to food to attention to detail the rooms were very comfortable clean and we love the fact that they are very eco-friendly focused Somerton has come on leaps and bounds since I was there and it only seems to be getting better with places like this. A great little “old English” hotel that is located in the middle of the village. The accommodation rooms are wonderful and the building is full of charm which provides the experience we were looking for on our short driving tour of southwest England.
The pub is obviously very popular with locals too because it was booked out for meals last night. We had a lovely meal too.
I have previously stayed at the White Hart 3 times in 2018 so this was my 4th visit on Business.
I could recognize the same Staff and upon check-in and they casual dropped a comment to me that I had previously stayed before. This may have explained the room upgrade to their largest room Room 3 (or that other bookings for different duration's may have facilitated the switch).
Ether way the room was great, nice comfortable bed, large TV, a feature bath in the main room too. Only comments on the room would be the extractor fan in the shower room/toilet needs a dust. Also the window in the shower room could perhaps do with being tinted for privacy.
Food was nice, and the restaurant was really busy compared to when I have previously stayed. My only annoyance was that Breakfast is now not included if you book through Hotels.com or expedia as they call it and that you should book direct where it will be the same room price but included breakfast.
I wouldn't have minded if they had told me when I checked in that it had changed, it was just a unwelcome surprise given at no point they told you or even updated the menus to specify.
Nice hotel with good breakfast and friendly staff. Only issue was no dedicated parking and we were concerned that there would not be an available roadside place when we returned late at night. In the event it was ok.
A lovely old Inn/ Pub that’s been recently refurbished and has a lovely feel to suit young and old. Great food, using local produce which we like. Fluffy towels, lovely toiletries, high quality bedding. We stayed in room 5 and we had to shut the window at night time as there’s a kitchen extract tube outside the window which may come from the pub next door. But this did lead to fatty fumes until midnight. That’s the only negative thing though.
