Holiday Inn Express Charleston-Civic Center by IHG
4/10 Poor
"The staff at check-in were very friendly, first room 513 went to the room swiped open the door and there was a gentleman laying on the couch. I said I’m sorry I went to the front desk new room room 622 dirty bathroom hair on the floor on the counter. I used the washcloth to clean the bathroom. I have a picture of how dirty it was, the shower curtain smelled moldy, carpet in the room dirty, stains, the couch in the room had stains on the cushions and the worst part is that the pillows on my bed the smell was horrendous. The smell was like sweaty musty, almost animals smell it was ridiculous. I did go to the front desk and asked for new pillows which I did receive, but the smell was embedded in my nostrils. The property is not maintain elevator was dirty. It’s just a poorly managed hotel. I would never stay there again and for the price that I paid no way I would not recommend I did not eat the free breakfast that was included."
"This is a nice property that's clean, has good service, and the casino was bigger than expected. Was there on a Friday night and they had plenty of slots to choose from, plenty that were available, and a nice variety of table games with room to join. Service was mixed here with some being great and occasionally feeling ignored. All in all, we'd stay again as Charleston is a typical stopping point for us on road trips."
"I thought this would just be a "regular" hotel, but I really ended up liking it so much! The staff were very friendly, the room was great, and the surrounding neighborhood restaurants and shops were so fun--especially the antique stores!"
