The location of the hotel, close to historic downtown and on the waterfront was very handy. We could walk to go shopping and restaurants. "The bathroom door would not stay shut. The mattresses should be turned around or switched out. The mattress closest to the window in 405 in Sitka ak could be switched to a firm mattress."

"So, I must say I loved staying there. BUT, it’s old. Our room was clean and quiet. Tub dripped a bit which I didn’t care about. Window to didn’t shut quite right. The parking lot was nearly unusable cuz they chose not to deal with the massive snow, but they directed me to a lot across the street I could poach if I left by 8am. You can tell it was amazing in its heyday. My daughter (9) gives it full 5 stars. I only rated cleanliness lower because the ice machine on 2 had LOTS of dust on top of it the whole 4 night stay. Ice machine on 4 didn’t work. All that said, I found it lovely and would wholly recommend if you don’t mind a few quirks in a beautiful old hotel that’s got clean rooms and great food nearby."
