Amazing hotel
We had booked as part of our trip around Sri Lanka and honestly loved every second of being there. My only criticism is the driveway to the hotel. The sandy offroad path really isn't drivable by most normal vehicles and the hotel gave no warning that we might need a different type of car to access the property. Upon arrival, we were greeted by staff to take us to reception. Check-in was super efficient and after a quick tour of the property we were shown to our room where our bags were already waiting. Wow. The rooms are amazing - huge and everything in it feels brand new. The centre point of the room is the large bed with a variety of pillows. There is a good sized wardrobe with a safe and desk area with plenty of plug points. Behind the bed is the bathroom with closed off toilet, shower and a rolltop bathtub. The lounge area of the room has a love seat and tv/speaker system and there is also a dining table by the coffee machine and well stocked minibar (which is all included in your package). Air con works well in the room and there is a fan above the bed. Each room also includes its own decent sized plunge pool and decking and we had an amazing view to the beach and sea. The hotel has a restaurant, a stunning bar with an extensive cocktail list and a sundowners bar on the beach which is open each evening. All food and drink is included in your package and the quality of the food and service is very good... there just isn't enough time to enjoy everything!

Recommend hotel.
The hotel is amazing, very high class hotel. The food is like a chef restaurant so all day you have different options to eat, really nice. Yala park is nice, didn’t saw many wild animals because of the weather (rainy). Dulaj in the restaurant were very kind and lovely, He made us home filling. Thanks Chena Huts.

The best hotel we have ever stayed in. The rooms are amazing and have a private pool. All food and drinks are included and everything was top quality. Service was great. Since we were only staying for one night they offered early check-in and late check-out free of charge. Highly recommend to stay more than one night to enjoy this beautiful place.

In an amazing location with the sea on one side, and the bush on the other, the design of the huts is excellent, using natural materials but with modern facilities. The staff are what really makes this a special place, nothing is too much trouble, we particularly enjoyed the company of Dulaj in the restaurant, and Sanka on the game drives. We did see a leopard really well, and a few elephants, but our best drive was at block 5 where the bird life was amazing.

Magical
Must stay if you go to the national park! The ranger and staff are so well versed and polished. It was an experience worth while! The rooms are spacious and the food was super delicious! The spa was not upto the mark, but other than that, it was a beautiful stay for us. we wish we stayed longer

You can't quite believe Chena Huts until you go there and experience it yourself. The attention to detail and individual level of service are unlike anything we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It's just a shame we could only spend one night. The room and your own private swimming pool is just so luxurious that you forget you are there to go on safari. The only downside to our stay was that the park was closed whilst we were there for maintenance, so it was a 90minute drive to gain entry in to another sector of Yala National Park. Whilst this is a very expensive hotel, you really do walk away feeling that it was money well spent. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering it.

Honeymoon of dreams
Our stay was beyond words. From a quick mention of our honeymoon in an email before we arrived- Chena huts did everything possible to ensure our honeymoon was one to remember including a private beach dinner with our unique menu surrounded by wild boar and monkeys- we even got a selfie with some elephants. The huts are amazing with each having its own private pool and the food and drinks are superb. Couldn’t rate Chena huts highly enough.

Great Game Safari and Pampered Stay
The game safari with a ranger was enjoyable. The ranger was able to spot species with his trained eyes. The 1 and 2 blocks were closed on October 17th and we had tio Drive more than an hour. We nearly missed the afternoon game drive which takes off at 2:30pm. We were not informed by Expedia (we booked with) nor Chena Huts. But Cena Huts did take us. The hut was exceptional and the private pool was most welcoming after the game safari. The dinner was great too. .The next morning we were taken on the second second game safari at 4.30am. Staff were exceptionally friendly and pampered us. If you like a wonderful experience Cena Huts is a must see . The price includes the luxury of the Yala wilderness, full board, pampering and i2 game drives WITH a Ranger. It us worth it!

Amazing accommodation in a beautiful tranquil setting near the entrance to Yala national park. Our ranger Damian & his driver Shan were very knowledgable and made the drives very memorable. Staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend it and can't wait to return

Spectacular setting but room for improvement.
Overall, we had a great stay here. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and the rooms are fantastic, in a wonderful setting. However, there were some points that we felt let things down a little. We were there on our honeymoon and had previously notified the hotel of this, but no acknowledgement was provided when we arrived or at any point during our stay. This is in contrast to the other hotels we have stayed at during our honeymoon. The other slight criticism we have is that, whilst there are two game drives per day included, the early morning drive is - in our view - not worth attending. It was a 5.30am start time which was fine, but then we were forced to sit around for half an hour whilst tickets to the park were obtained for us to enter. It would have been better if these had been arranged in advance. Second, the area of the park that we were taken to during the morning drives was packed with other jeeps which meant the trip was slow and that we saw hardly any animals (one elephant only during a 4 hour trip). By contrast, the afternoon game drives were in a different area of the park (further away), which were much quieter and meant we saw many more animals as a result. During our two afternoon game drives we saw leopard cubs on each occasion, which was spectacular, and was the reason for the visit. Overall, a great trip and great place to stay, but there could be some improvements to make things even better.

Lifetime experience!
The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever experienced! The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and the hotel is just amazing! There is only 14 rooms, and the rooms are basically cabins with a terracce and a plunge pool. It looks just as in the pictures! The restaurant is placed close to the beach, and the food is delightful. We went on a safari arranged by the hotel both in the evening (3.30pm) and in the morning (6am). It was a great experience, and we also spotted a leopard thanks to the great rangers from the hotel! That’s definietly not guaranteed, we got very lucky! When we got back from the evening safari, we were welcomed at the beach, where the staff served grilled shrimps and evening drinks in the sunset. it’s all inclusive, meaning all meals, mini bar, drinks and two safari game drives, so it’s definietly worth it! We only stayed one night, but should at least been there two nights, preferrably a week!

Heaven!
Where does one start, Chena Huts is absolutely amazing on so many levels. From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be top notch. The warm friendly welcome from the staff, the fantastic surroundings and the beautiful property. The check in was swift and relaxed by the professional reception staff, our hut was a paradise in itself. The bar and the restaurant delivered great food and drinks. The housekeeping did a wonderful job of cleaning and turndown service. The safaris were great, very knowledgeable rangers and a great Jeep driver. There is not many places that leave you with such a sense of complete relaxation and happiness. We hope to be back and can not recommend this experience enough, Thank You! Joel and Francesca

A gem
Incredible place! Perfect service, delicious food, very beautiful and best of all, it’s right in the boarder of Yala National Park. The hotel rangers brought us 4 times to the park in the 2 days we were there. In that time we saw 6 leopards, two of which right next to the truck. We also saw numerous elefants and other wildlife. Highly recommended hotel
