It is not really in walking distance to UVA, but it does have a nice trail system just behind the property. It's a good 45 minute drive to Shenandoah. The breakfast is very good, and the lobby is cozy. "

"First, I was given a room that was already occupied. No phone in the room to ask questions of the desk, no person on the desk! I was hoping to watch the final of the World Baseball Classic(on Fox) but TV not working or only available as a monitor for streaming (using my own subscriptions!) Coffee maker good, but flavored creamer(?) Room was clean and comfortable, but totally DIY (no instructions about how to lower the shades, for example).It is close to my daughter's house, which is why I booked it."
