"All in all, it was a good value, but there was a male employee who was working when I checked in and whose behavior was similar to multiple people. I was ignored for over 10 minutes while he spoke on the phone. He issued me a card without asking for my ID and when I brought multiple packages in on a carrier, he gave me a second floor room where there’s no elevator. He was indifferent. he ignored us and I didn’t appreciate that."
"This is an older building without an elevator for three floors. But it is updated and well maintained. The room and beds are comfortable. Breakfast was very basic. Asked for restaurant recommendations but was told there are restaurants all up and down the street, just look around. There is a good diner type place diagonally across the street which was convenient."
"A lovely place. Lots of cute amenities. The linens and towels were outstanding. I really appreciated that it’s all one level (I hate stairs) and one can park at or near one’s room. Lots of great grass for walking dogs and outdoor seating areas. I would only say that my room, a “junior” was
Quite tiny so I would not advise it for more than one person as there was no chair or dresser —just the bed and a small bedside table and small fridge and precious little floor space. Also someone did a really bad paint job in there (room 9) which was odd because everything was so new and trying to be upscale."
"Well-located just off main street and a block from restaurants and shops. Rooms were spacious and clean. Reception staff were helpful. Breakfast a good way to start the day with decent choices. Reasonably priced, given the area."
"Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. The grounds are so beautiful . There were a number of lovely places inside and out for sitting and relaxing. We loved the welcome drink and a bottle of wine ( choice of red or white) to have in our room. We enjoyed it on our balcony with its lovely views of the main house and the yard. Unfortunately we couldn’t attend the cognac tasting as we were busy. I would love to come to the Cornell again-and again!"
The Black Swan Lee - Lenox, an Ascend Collection Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Black Swan Inn. Location was great - close to Lenox and on a beautiful lake - I recommend booking a lakeside room."
