Villa Irlanda Grand Hotel

Villa Irlanda Grand Hotel

8/10 Good
"The property is an old nunnery and the rooms are compact and the doors are loud when people leave in the morning. The beds and pillows are super hard. At least the rooms are air conditioned. It is 2 miles away from the historic, old city that is worth driving to and walking around. This area of the hotel is not worth exploring by foot. However, the breakfast was included in the room rate and was a 9 out of 10 served outside at the outdoor pavilion near the pool. We did not have dinner on site as the Oceanside restaurant was fully booked, which was disappointing. Overall, nice property. The large pool is worth some time to sit and relax.. Some walking required from car park to your room over gravel and uneven surfaces. To me, itโ€™s not a $300 a night property but if you can get it for less, it is a decent price-value."

10/10 Excellent
"Excellent, modern, clean and well-maintained property. Staff are uniformly friendly and helpful. Good spa, okay fitness room, convenient pool. Good air-conditioning. Walk to town and beach, or readily available shuttle. Breakfast is a standout with huge variety on buffet and many staff to assist. This is an excellent hotel at a good value price."

"The apartment was great! Highly Recommend! Antonio, the owner, was a great communicator. He gave us instructions on how to arrive from Rome, and arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the train station. Check-in was easy. The apartment is simple. It has everything you need. Everything was pretty clean. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, utensils, plates, etc., and we cooked most of our meals there. The kitchen did not have any type of condiments - salt, pepper, oil, etc, so make sure to bring your own. It was nice to have a washer and drying rack. It was super hot during our trip and the AC worked great! The only con about the apartment is that it was listed as having, "one double bed and two singles OR 4 single beds." However, it has one double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room that can fit two people. It was a miscommunication of the beds descriptions on the website. So just keep that in mind if you need two single beds. It was tight but we managed. Two beach beds and 1 umbrella is included with the reservation! Huge plus!! This apartment is not located on the beach so FYI. But the owner of the apartment has a deal with a nearby beach bar for the beach beds and umbrella. The beach bar, Lido Baia Verde, was about a 10min walk away. Very easy to get there. We went there everyday and had a great time. The owners/staff of the beach bar were nice. The beach is sandy and very clean. The water was amazing! Would definitely come back. Thanks, Antonio!"

"Room was older. Could have used a refresher. Was sold as a junior suite but was just 2 large room with a sleeper arm chair. Mini fridge did not cool. Breakfast was very industrial!"
