"You get what you pay for. It was cheap. Have cash. My bad for not being prepared. Credit card machine was down for the 2nd day and a $25 cash deposit was required to check in. Took an extra 20 min but thanks to the receptionist & Venmo, got it done. Don’t book if you are sensitive to smells. I open the hall door and almost gagged on the stench. There was a patio door in my upstairs room so I left it open for a half hour to air it out. The patio didn’t lock, but thank goodness no one has ever scaled up to a 2nd floor so I’m sure it was totally safe & secure - _ - The room didn’t look terrible but I did not trust the shower. Don’t use the towels & give yourself extra time to check out. To get my deposit back, someone had to do a “room check”. I had wiped my eyeshadow brush on a towel, so it looked “stained”. She brought the towel down for the receptionist to check. She looked at it & was like “oh yeah that can be washed”. But because “the owner wants more communication”, she had to call him to make sure it was OK for me to get my deposit back. After 9 calls with no answer, she apologized and I just said I would come back after my gig because I wasn’t going to be late for work over this. Considering how gross this place is, & the reviews, it felt harassing like they were trying to get me to give up so they could keep the $25. I did get a text confirming I was good to go about 30 minutes after I left. I did go back and got my money. That also took too long. But hey, it was cheap."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lansing-Dimondale by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel would be perfect if it was updated! I got a room with a jacuzzi tub and was pleasantly surprised that it was completely clean and no gross gunk came out of it. I would suggest some sort of step stool for the tub. I had a hard time getting in as a person who is 6’1”."
"The staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially the young man running the front desk (and operating everything at breakfast). He obviously takes great care in his job and wants to make sure customers are well taken care of, which is always good to see. The building is aged, but appropriate for the price, especially with the service provided."
"Poorly managed, non English speaking staff and with it previously being a Hampton Inn, they are using it as a money grab and not worth over $50 a night ( my opinion)"
"The room was clean however the first room
that we were assigned too didn’t have a curtain up to the window but we got a different room that the TV didn’t work and the kitchenette sink was not attached and couldn’t be used."
