Stay Clear Of this Unit

Stayed at Beachers Lodge numerous times over a span of 30 years. Throughout that span, I have seen changes in the location in general as it transitioned from Hotel to mostly short-term rental of Individual owned Condos. Overall could be declined, yet still had very pleasant experiences with other Beachers units as recently as 2 years ago. This particular unit is not up to par for price point. Room so clean with humid/mildew smelling bedroom with malfunctioning AC which never shuts off and has controls that do not respond. With cheap and worn furnishings plus general disrepair to bathroom/paint/molding/fixtures, yet still offering an ocean view balcony consistent with every unit at Beachers. Was listed at reasonable rate, however, the property fee" and additional tax fee takes the actual rate to more than double listing on par with luxury Hotel not at all equivalent to these accommodations. Add to that a door which does not properly lock while inside the room (including a useless physical key, no dead-bolt and keyed numeric code one can only imagine staff and other renters know). The cherry on-top was ridiculous independent real estate management group emails from "Vtrip" including a long and rights constraining rental agreement which must be signed otherwise rental funds would be forfeited. A malfunctioning secondary website was useless and suspicious, where simple email would do. We should have booked sooner, much better options available.

The policy to not provide paper products (toilet paper) is ridiculous. Also, the room was in need of remodeling... Electrical is terrible. The TVs wouldn't work. Had Spectrum remote but no channels. Definitely not close to 4 or 5 star room as advertised.

We didn't like the furniture very uncomfortable and very limited tv stations and very low toliet in the bathroom. We left early due to the uncomfortable furniture and the noise of the air conditioning. We enjoyed the beach and pool.
