Brier Island Lodge
8/10 Good
"Due to an error on my part, we arrived a day earlier than our reservation. Tiffany at the desk was so kind and gracious. She was able to shuffle some reservations and that allowed us to stay the extra night. Accommodations are very basic with no TV or air conditioning. Fortunately, the evenings cooled down and we did not need air conditioning. A TV would have been nice to relax after a day of hiking around the island. You are forced to unplug. Internet is spotty at best. The restaurant is one of only 2 places to eat on the island and is quite pricey as a result. Limited mediocre menu. The walls are very thin and we could hear conversations from adjacent rooms. Even bathroom noises. Stomping overhead at all hours with kids and a dog is not very relaxing. The island is very beautiful."

"Super nice staff. The cleaners need to be a bit more attentive as there was a lot of dust around the night table and lamp. The room looks recently renovated and felt fresh and new, although my room was unfortunately near the smokersโs corner, for some reason designated as such by the other guests, so there seemed to be a lot of people near my door smoking during my stay (not the fault of management, but not great if one has allergies.) Due to this, there were several chairs outside the door of my room, one broken and lying on its side (reported to the front desk). The breakfast buffet is ample for anyone who likes bagels, toast, cereal, coffee; nothing fancy like eggs or a pancake maker. The inn is well located near amenities like restaurants and the museum (walking distance) and an easy drive to many historic sites. Ample parking is also a plus."

"Stayed here for one night when we went Whale watching. It was a self check in property but the hosts responded very quickly when I asked questions. The actual apartment was a bit dark but it was in the basement so to be expected. There were all the amenities needed which was great as we cooked dinner there that night. It was far from any town so you have to make sure you either bring food or eat before you get there but is very convenient to the East ferry if you are going Whale watching on Brier island!"
