"My check in was awesome the lady at the front desk was very accommodating. The room was nice and clean with soft towels and not dated looking at all. It had a very nice feel to it. In the morning all staff greeted me and I was asked 2-3 times how the breakfast was. Breakfast was good your typical layout, waffles, sausage patties, real peamal bacon ( a little dried out ) but once mentioned asked if I would wait and she would make fresh. Felt homely, with everyone smiling and interacting. "

"There was rain water comming from the exterior entrance door. Was cleaned by the receptionist as soon as I mentioned. Needs some maintenance, to avoid this. The drain of the sink in the bathroom, was jammed, impossible to open completely, so it couldn't drain."

"The epitome of customer service excellence! The Insignia is my the favourite place to stay! The amenities, furnishings and location are just the best. The staff are superior.. always make you feel welcome, so helpful and greet you by name when passing through the lobby. It just doesn’t get any better!"

"The main lobby area was very nice and inviting. The room at first entrance had an odour but otherwise looked clean. Upon further inspection, the carpets were very dirty and stained looking. I would recommend bringing sandals or slippers or extra socks for your feet if you choose to stay here. Lighting in the room wasn’t great. The bathroom lighting was good for makeup applications but not a lot of room in the bathroom for getting ready. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. No complaints there! There was an issue with our key cards for the rooms but it was very quickly resolved by the front desk staff. Breakfast was wonderful! Small selection but everything we had was fresh and delicious! Parking was convenient! We were able to park right outside our room for easy access while unloading and loading the car. "

"They put me in a renovated king room and it was discusting , the bed and furniture was very old and not comfortable, the room was in very poor condition."

"The hotel put out a good breakfast. They are renovating the hotel and thus the elevator floor wasn't the best but the lobby was bright and welcoming and the room while older was clean.temperatures were in single digits when we stayed so we didn't use the AC but the heating worked and kept the room comfortable. And also important given the temperature shower water was hot for all of us. "

"The highlight of going to Chatham is visiting a friend and staying at this hotel. I have now stayed in three different rooms and I get excited opening the door to see what my room might look like. Conveniently located, right downtown shadow, you can eat at the attached restaurant or walk to any of the other grade spots in the downtown core. The gym is actually not on the property but instead access is given to guests at the hotel to use very well equipped fit for less just across the parking lot. Less convenient in the winter, but certainly not a big deal to pop over in the nice weather. The only downside is that there is not a coffee maker in the room. I love having a cup of coffee in my pajamas. I’m not having to see anyone. I did learn on this day that if I reached out ahead of time, they can put a coffee maker in your room, they do have a few kicking around. You will definitely not be disappointed with a stay at retro suites."
