"Was a really nice hotel room & reasonably priced."

"Mattress and pillows were the worst part about the stay, the mattress was thin and compressed so hard it was impossible to sleep on the side as it was like sleeping on the bed base. Pillows were either hard and lumpy or no substance to them. I’ve left with very little sleep and bad neck and back. On arrival the WiFi was down and the lift didn’t work. Bathroom smelt of urine so strong I was avoiding using it. The carpet was sticky and thread bare in places. General cleanliness and condition of the room left a lot to be desired. There was a power cut during my stay, not the hotel’s fault, but no emergency lighting in the bedrooms. Which meant being sat in the dark for hours, there was lighting in the corridors, this should be expected in the rooms too for safe navigation to the bathroom."

"After check in, we went to our room (140) which had a double bed in one room and 2 sofa beds in the adjoining room, lots of space for everyone! One of the sofa beds wasn’t made up so I asked reception for help. They quickly came along with bedding and we went for a swim before dinner. Dinner was served in the bar as there were too few guests to use the restaurant. The food was standard hotel price and quality, it filled a hole but wouldn’t be a reason to return. We returned to our room and despite being a bit too hot, we all slept well. We woke in the morning and fitted in another swim before breakfast. Someone had registered for breakfast under our room number - a non resident and his kids freeloading. My daughter began itching her arm but I thought nothing of it. Over the course of the next couple of hours she was itchy all over and when I looked she had red itchy spots all over both arms, her shoulders and back. I emailed the hotel to let them know so they could check the room/sofa bed and bedding but they haven’t replied. We were due to return on our way back home but have managed to cancel this. We are now out of pocket for antihistamine, creams and washing our clothing at 60 degrees but we learnt an important lesson. I have stayed in many hotels and never thought to check for such things. I don’t think I’ll ever sleep anywhere again without a mattress inspection. "

"Parking was easy/safe. Good location. Close for motorway & City. Theres a Toby carvery ( not dog friendly) 2 minute walk, farm shop - cafe not dog friendly & very expensive for a takeaway roll & sausage/cup of tea. Nice views, staff were helpful/pleasant.The lofthouse restaurant/bar appeared popular and dogs were permitted in a small area to the back of the restuarant. The food was nice, but limited in choice. The room was a good size, bed was comfy. However, the bathroom needs attention, the floor is mouldy due to the corner bath shower position, there was no plug for the bath, nor a bath mat to prevent slipping when showering. The milk was not replenished the next day to make tea/coffee. For a modern building I expected more from it, there are no usb sockets in the room. When travelling,we are usually expected to strip beds in most places we visit & did this the moring we left. The linnen on the bed was great clean, unfortunately i can't say the same for the duvet, it was badly stained, as was the matress [there were no protectors on the bed]. The has burn marks and stains on it."

"I had to move through in the middle of the night because there was noise next door from an extractor fan in another guest room. The Knight water was very helpful and found me another room."

"Great location and very clean. Parking spot available in secure lot under the apartments. It has a combination washer/dryer, but it took about 6-8 hours to complete one load. Apartment is up one flight of stairs. "

"The hotel was in quite a good position for us to walk to the centre. Parking was good. The ensuite was too small, with no room to hang a bath towel. I was pleased to see a fridge in the bedroom but I was disappointed in the breakfast. The hot breakfast was nicely cooked, but I think it is unusual in English hotels not to be offered any fruit or yogurt, which I missed, particularly on the days we chose to have a continental breakfast."

"No complaints at all about the property it was spotless and in a perfect location. Parking was secure and well organised. Our only compliant is that we checked out over a week ago and have still not received a refund of the deposit by bank transfer as promised even though we were informed it was being paid. We stay in a lot of holiday lets with refundable deposits and have never had to use a bank transfer system before. Using a credit card guarantee is in our view far better as bank transfers are cumbersome and cause extra work for both parties."

"Lovely bright and airy 2 bed apartment with balcony. Great location opposite the park with a few minute walk into Gloucester centre and quays. Very clean with good amenities apart from lacking a dishwasher .. which on this occasion was not a problem for us as we only stayed 2 nights and eat out. Easy parking in property’s own car park. Did ask about parking for an extra car but wasn’t too happy about the location or tidiness of this as looked run down with rubbish and nails etc on the ground so did not use. "
