Consider exploring the cosy coffee shops in Admiralteyskiy. If sightseeing is on the list, St. Nicholas' Naval Cathedral is a top attraction. Hop on the metro at Frunzenskaya Station or Tekhnologichesky Institut Station to see more of the area.

The former city square of the Old Russian Empire, this square its famous for holding the 1905 Bloody Sunday and the 1917 October Revolution.   A massive square just in front of the Hermitage Museum, its a popular destination where carriages, skaters and tourists mix up. 

The statue in the middle is the Alexander Column, a 50 meters tall column thats unique of its kind.   This enormous column was placed in the middle of Palace square to celebrate the victory of Russia over Napoleonic France.  Unlike its ancient predecessors, at the top of the column there was not a statue of the respective emperor at the time

While you're in Palace District, take in top sights like Cigar Museum and jump on the metro at Nevsky Prospekt Station to see more of the city.

Kazan Cathedral, St. Petersburg 

Kazan Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox Church built in 1801 -  1811 by architect Andrey Voronikhin. Also known as Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, dedicated to this venerated icon. It was modeled upon the St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican. It is located on the main road of St. Petersburg, the Nevsky Boulevard.
