"This is an excellent property. Very historic, rustic and with great views across the Tuscan landscapes. Lorenzo and his mother were super duper hosts who took great care of us. The property dates back to 1380 and the rooms are decorated with choicest artifacts that adds greatly to the experience. The location is fantastic too with the local market and restaurants in easy walking reach. The breakfast service is fabulous with many choices and Lorenzo himself is great chef as well! Highly recommend...

"We had a 4 night’s stay here and used it as our base for tours around Toscany. It is located in a quiet area outside Siena. The apartment was nice and clean. We used the kitchen for minor cooking and that worked well. There is a supermarket close by and small restaurants in the town. The AC was working great.
The host was very keen to share information on good places to see and was eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was very nice and they also have a restaurant where...

"Beautiful villa, very spacious, gorgeous property and great restaurant on the property to have a delicious meal. Staff very welcoming. Close to other main cities, like Siena, for day trips. We loved sitting by the pool, although it wasn’t heated, so too cold to use in April. We did love using the indoor heated pool and hot tub each day. We had a fabulous time and hope to go back someday! "

"Our stay here exceeded expectations. Accommodations in the main building were rustic but very well maintained, and with modern amenities. It had a “small resort feel” to it. We did not visit the other buildings but safe to assume the same. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged cooking classes, wine tours and helped us organize a local horseback trail ride.
The main pool can get busy. Certainly not a complaint - if you’re looking to be social with others I recommend it, but if looking for a quieter setting, the detached buildings with their own pools looked quieter.
You can’t always get a drink or food during the day and the reception area does close so pay attention to their hours. There is a fridge on site for guests to store some snacks and beverages.
The patio, where food is served (both inside and outside options available - inside has unobstructed views). Breakfast buffet is served daily - European style, lunch needs to be pre-ordered daily and supper reservations are needed by mid afternoon.
We also found guest laundry on site - washer only though.
Defenitely need a car to get around the site and to tour the area. Groceries and restaurant options are a 10-20 mins drive away in smaller towns.
There are multiple gathering points where you can hang out as a family or group on site.
We felt we had a true Italian experience while staying here."
"Really a great location in Siena, and I recommend it. Location is great, staff are helpful, and the included breakfast spread is pretty awesome.
Our experience was slightly degraded by the extreme heat wave that was over much of Europe - while Hotel Athena has good A/C, it was struggling to keep up at times."
"Borgo refers to something like little village and that’s what this property is. A cluster of beautiful stone buildings and gravel drives surrounded by acres of olive and lavender. Beautifully appointed common and areas in rooms. Excellent restaurant with elevated cuisine. Beautiful pool. Distance skyline view of Sienna, Really no negatives. Would definitely come back."
"The photos might hint at the quality of the property but don’t really do it justice. The sweeping easterly, vineyard views across to Monti-in-Chianti and up to Brolio are really mesmerizing. Grounds were well kept. Breakfast had the usual Italian selection of good fruits, grains, meats, breads, and sweets. Coupled with a limited menu of ala carte items and rich cappuccinos! Our suite was located about .25mi south of the main building. We enjoyed the walk multiple times per day but grandma might not. The room was nicely appointed with a living room, large bedroom, closet space and two sink bathroom. Stocked mini-fridge and cof/tea selections. Each room had its own outdoor area with a table/chaise to enjoy with coffee or after the pool. The out door pool is not heated (indoor pool is) but very comfortable on the 90 degree days we spent there. Pool service isn’t quite the same as some resorts, as you would go to the bar to order food/beverage and they’d bring it out to your chair setup. A good selection of menu items are available to choose from. Restaurants on site were excellent. Had the Bistecca at Tuscanio and it was perfection while LaColonna’s carpaccio and fusilli dish were both a treat. Staff was friendly though a bit harried. Seemed like they just needed a few more bodies around to smooth out the place.
Ilaria at the front desk was really outstanding with her command and knowledge. While Marcella really made the pool with her wry smile and daily daiquiri selection."
"An amazing place to stay and relax in Florence. Highly recommend if you want a place to relax and away from the crowds . The staff was very respectful, polite and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing especially the chocolate croissants. Great value for the price. Thank you villa I Barronci!"
