"The people and place were welcoming and helpful. From dealing with a medical emergency to finding a last minute ride to the airport, our hosts could not have been more lovely. They accommodated us more then enough and treated us like family/close friends. "Really nice place to go and relax – was a bit caught out by the number of young families there (09.07.26-16.07.26), not really an issue (and we've had a family so know what it is like), but was hoping for a little more quiet, particularly regarding the family above our room!! We'll deffo go back, but 2 or 3 weeks earlier to hopefully avoid the families. Restaurants were excellent, the food was very very good (particularly Mouries) especially when compared to a restaurant in Malia Old Town – and very competitive when you take into account you need a taxi in and out of Malia old town. All restaurant staff were very attentive and liked to chat, so relaxed and very friendly. We had a swim up bungalow, worth the extra for that, you get a really nice private space for relaxing after a hard day on the beach! The beach was clean and kept very tidy (in fact, it wont a Blue Flag award while we were there). The sea was amazingly warm, probably one of the warmest seas I've been in on all my travels. The beach guy and the Beach Shack staff worked really hard and nothing was too much trouble for them – drinks were served very quickly, even at the furthest part of the beach from the bar. Overall, very nice place to go and relax."
