"Hotel Madison is a tremendous facility centrally located in the middle of Harrisonburg & JMU. It’s close to historic Harrisonburg and our must stay when traveling through the area. "

"We’ve had kids attending JMU since 2021, and our second is wrapping up this year so we’ve spent a lot of time in Harrisonburg and at area hotels. Our favorite, and by far the nicest experience we’ve had, has consistently been the Hyatt. We’ve always felt it was worth paying a little more to stay there. This weekend, however, was disappointing. We arrived around 2:40 PM for a 3:00 PM check-in and found several people already waiting in the lobby. Around 3:00, a Temple lacrosse team arrived and appeared to be checked in right away. After 3:00, I followed up at the front desk about our room and was told, “It’s only 3:08.” That response didn’t sit well, especially given we had dinner reservations with our kids at 5:00 PM and an event later that evening. After traveling, we were really counting on time to get settled and ready. We didn’t get into our room until close to 4:00 PM, which left us rushing to get ready. That said, I do want to recognize that Rachel and the bartender were by far the friendliest and most helpful staff members we encountered they offered bottled water and were genuinely kind, which we appreciated. The following morning, there were grounds in the coffee, making it undrinkable, and one of the elevators was out of service, which added to the frustration. On a positive note, we had an excellent dinner at Ridge Room—highly recommend, especially if you make a reservation for the weekend. We’re hoping this was just an off weekend. "

"The breakfast was very good. The parking was convenient and safe. Even enjoyed fresh popped popcorn self-served in the lobby. The room was clean and bed was comfortable."

"This place is awful. Worse than the county jail I’m sure! Bed uncomfortable, sheets looked dirty. Phone in room broken. Room next door occupied by white trash that listened to loud rap music ALL night. Staff was made aware and did NOTHING about it. Terrible nights stay!!"

"The check-in was a bit of a challenge because our keycards would not open the door. We drove back to check in desk and they programmed brand new keys and that did not work so we had to call security to let them open the entrance door to the condos. They could not figure out why the door could not be opened, but our condo door opened and we got in. They promised to fix it but never returned, so we went to bed with the entry door unlocked. We ended up having to call again the following day to ask them to fix it. Which they came and did. That second night , we did not get much sleep because a load noise sounded as if was coming from the a boiler room every 20 mins and lasted about 6 seconds would jar us out of our sleep. We didn’t bother to call because we honestly thing they would take care of it so we just waited to leave the following morning. The condo itself was clean and spacious and the appliances worked ok, and the staff was ok. Beautiful property and relaxing atmosphere. Still not sure if we’ll be returning. "

"The pool was very nice and easily the best part. People were kind. Had issues with the room, breakfast, people there were apologetic but that was it, didn't offer any resolution. So it was ok"
